Q.  What greater work is there than to heal the sick, teach the ignorant, and raise the dead?    Are not such deeds solely performed as acts of resistance to apparent adverse or evil appearances?  But what can be greater and more noble than this?

In reading emails and in some cases talking to people on the phone, I’m hearing stories that reveal the emotional content of the collective at this time when the energies are shifting so dramatically on earth. Many people are exceedingly anxious and a significant number are feeling excruciating pain. Being sensitive to these subtle and not-so-subtle energies, I tap into this when I meditate as well as when I have conversations. Here is a quotation I read yesterday by the poet Rainer Maria Rilke, who said, “We are wasters of sorrow, and for a greater part it is based on the ‘noble’ illusion that we could get somehow ‘around’ suffering.” Obviously, we cannot … at least not yet. We are in a transformative process awaiting the “joy that comes in the morning” at the dawn of our new, long-awaited Day.

Last night I spent an evening with God.  We chatted until early this morning.  Hard to believe, I know.  Yet I can tell you with certainty what God looks like.  I held him, laughed with him, hugged her and had a drink with her.  He cried, she showed me her quilt, he played for me his latest song, and he made dinner with me.  He said “I love you”, she told me a secret, he looked in my eyes and I heard him.  My house was full of God and long after the leaving, I was whispered to for several more hours.  In my next blog, I’ll share those whispers with you.
