Libera – Luminosa (Debussy) – 24 December 2012

Uploaded on 6 December 2008 by DarthYoungling

Libera sings Luminosa, to the tune of Claude Debussy’s Clair De Lune.

I know this isn’t 100% Clair De Lune, but it’s to the tune of it with added lyrics.

Soloist: Ben Crawley, Steven Geraghty, and Sam Coats
Arranged by: Robert Prizeman
Album: Luminosa
Song: Luminosa
Tune: Claude Debussy

Lyrics:
Beata
Sempitern
Gloriosa

Star of heaven, send your light on me
Star of day, shine through the dark

Beata nominum,
Beata lumina

Aurora stella claro luna
Aurora nocte luminosa

Beata nominum,
Beata sempiterna
Iluminosa, gloriosa

Ave, Ave
Maris stella
Nocte silentium
Mater Dei
Semper coelestium
Maris Stella
Ave virgo clarissima
Gloriosa

Star of heaven, send your light on me
Star of day, shine through the dark

Beata nominum,
Beata lumina

Aurora stella claro luna
Aurora nocte luminosa

Beata nominum,
Beata sempiterna
Beata, sempiterna, gloriosa

Illumina

Anyways, this song was written by Robert Prizeman and sung by a boy’s choir in London called Libera.

I noticed a few years ago when I was watching Ocean’s 11, that this song sounded like Clair de lune, but I never posted it until now. I think Libera did a nice job as far as adding their own style to a masterpiece.
