Laura Bushnell – March New Moon Ritual – 10 March 2013

Laura Bio PhotoDear Ones,

The first week of March has been a bit challenging as we have been working with the Mercury retrograde energy. This means it has been a time to review, relax, regenerate, renew and realign. It’s also a been time to spend in a great deal of appreciation. To appreciate means to “increase in value”. Each time you spend time appreciating anything you increase its value, both to yourself and to the world.

A few weeks ago, I lost a dear friend to suicide. Jody Sherman was a dreamer and a man who created amazing businesses. He helped me create a dream once, and I will never forget him. I know I am not the only one he helped with their dreams, he was a true dream catcher. I have felt so many emotions with Jody’s passing. I wonder if only he had appreciated himself, maybe he would still be with us. But then I remember he is still with us, only on a different dimension. Whenever I find myself judging or criticizing other people’s actions, it takes away the perfection of what is. I can just appreciate that Jody needed to leave. I wish with all my heart he did not feel that way, but the truth is- he did. If the feeling of not wanting to be here anymore ever comes for any of you, take a moment to appreciate yourself and your life and perhaps Jody will catch your dream and help you to see the beauty of life. So now, dear Jody, there are many dreams down here for you to catch and help to manifest or “womanifest”!

We have a powerful new moon on March 11th in Pisces, a sign of dreamers. We all have many dreams inside of us. How about taking some extra time on this new moon to write down what you really want? What would bring you happiness? Would it be love, abundance, health or inner peace? How about all of them? Dream a dream and it will come true. Everything we think is affecting the manifestation process. Are you spending time thinking about what is wrong with your life? If so, get ready, because that is what you are going to manifest more of.

The other day, I sat on the beach and listened to the ocean. As I felt the sun on my body, the sand between my toes and the cool salty breeze, I knew I was part of the oneness of the Universe. With my body I merged with all that is. What an incredible feeling this connection is! As I walked up the stairs back to my house from the beach, a huge hawk flew towards me and landed on a pole close to where I was standing. I stopped and felt her power and thanked her for her presence. I felt such deep appreciation. She simply looked over at me and then flew away. I find such happiness in these moments. How do you connect each day? Nature is my medicine. For me, it may be a flower that awakens my eyes to beauty and aliveness or a magnificent bird that calls to my heart. All of it is miraculous. If you take time to connect each day, you create a balance in the Universe. There is so much pain that our dear Mother Earth shoulders. She needs your light more than ever. When you appreciate without judgment, you bring light to all that is.

Fully inspired from the beach/hawk experience, when I returned to the house I decided to pull a Tarot card for the month of March:

The Two of Wands requires us to connect to spirit and move forward from that place of connection. It is a Mars in Aries card, so it is requiring male energy. It wants us to move. It wants us to do. I suggest you connect during the first part of March and then after the 17th make your decisions. March brings a lot of power and energy to us. Thus, the Two of Wands is all about dreaming and progressing. You will clarify your dreams, ideas and desires, and then listen as the Universe delivers the path of how to achieve them directly to you! You must listen and watch. You must pray. You must act when called upon to act. This is not a time for laziness. It is a time to carefully move forward with spirit. It is no longer just an idea, you will now have a plan in place to ensure that your idea is carried out as the Goddess intended.

The Two of Wands is also about discovery, particularly as you step outside of your comfort zone and explore new worlds and new experiences. It may take some courage to take the first step, but this card gives you the confidence of self-knowledge. You know what your goal is, what your creative process is directing for you, and you are confident in its eventual fulfillment. The Two of Wands indicates that you will begin to consider your longer-term goals and aspirations. The old way of planning to achieve these goals is obsolete. You just need to see everything happening and plan for how you will utilize the results of these goals being manifested. You have already come so far but now you will feel you are ready for a change, this time with your long-term future in mind. If you follow your heart, and proceed with a balanced approach, you will set yourself up for success in the future.

The Twos in Tarot often represent decisions of some sort. In the case of the Two of Wands, you are making a decision between sticking with what you know, or expanding your horizons and taking a risk. You know that the world has to offer you something “bigger” or more meaningful, yet you are also aware that in order to maximize on this opportunity, you must leave your familiar grounds. Even though you have already invested a lot into your current circumstances, for you to be able to grow and to fully realize your potential, it is imperative that you step out into a new world and explore your options. Again, follow your heart. Your mind is outdated. This card shows the patience and focus of your intent. You have got the ball rolling and have started out on your journey, so now it is time to patiently wait for your rewards and watch as your ideas begin to materialize. Looking ahead, July will be a powerful time to see your ideas fully materialize.
