Aisha North – The Manuscript Of Survival – Part 364 – 17 October 2013

AishaNorthLet us begin this missive by saying that much has been set into motion these last few days, and much of this will in turn engender even further influxes that again will engender even more changes. So in some ways, we can say that these energetic emissions line up, nose to tail, in a never ending cycle of information that will take you all by storm. This will perhaps not be news to any of you, as you have already felt these waves slamming into you, but in a rather interesting manner, we hasten to add. For what you are experiencing now is happening at a very different level than before, and as such, you have been given a whole lot of new toys to play around with. We use this word, even if it may be construed as a rather flippant one, but trust is when we say that we are very serious about this, but we do it in order to remind you that the more you try to let go of the notion of seriousness and toil, the more you will be able to go with the flow and have fun with what you are about to step into. Ben Swann – Colorado Renews Effort To Recall Third State Senator – 17 October 2013

Ben Swann

The effort to recall Colorado State Senator Evie Hudak is on again.  The Westminister Democrat seemed to successfully evade recall in August, but the recent success of two other recall elections combined with her inflammatory statements during the state’s gun control debate have prompted a renewed effort.  The group has already raised well over $6,000 and $7,000 in non-monetary contributions, as well as attracting many volunteers.  http://www.recallhudaktoo.org/

Colorado’s gun control laws put the state in the national spotlight last spring.  The package of bills passed – and the few which failed to – comprised some of the most stringent anti-second amendment legislation in the country.  Though Governor John Hickenlooper said he didn’t believe signing the legislation would hurt his re-election bid, the backlash from Colorado citizens was stronger than anyone could predict.

Egypt.com – Moussa: Relationship With West Has Suffered After 30 June Revolution – 17 October 2013

Amr Moussa, chairman of the Committee of 50 amending the constitution, said the attitude of the US administration and the West towards Egypt has suffered after the 30 June revolution. “Relations with those countries have deteriorated over the past year,” he said. In an interview with the Kuwaiti Al-Ra’y newspaper published Wednesday, Moussa said the US position against Egypt’s military crackdown of political opposition was based on wrong assumptions. “It is unacceptable to threaten [Egypt] with cutting aid,” he said. “Aid is useful to both parties.” “But we must know that the United States is the first superpower that controls the world,” he added. “We cannot ignore it.” Moussa also said the support of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to Egypt has further distanced Egypt from the West. On reconciliation with the Muslim Brotherhood, he said he had called for it on behalf of the National Salvation Front but found no response. “Nor did the Europeans when they tried,” he added. Moussa said that the Committee on the Constitutional Committee will complete the initial drafting of the constitution after the Eid vacation. “Disputed articles would be resolved through consultation with all parties concerned,” he said. Moussa denied that the constitution gives immunity any particular person in any state institution. “We are determining the future of institutions and not individuals, he said. “We are drafting a balanced and unambiguous constitution.” On the best electoral system, Moussa said that there is considerable support for an “individual-based” system while political parties prefer a list-based” system. “Next parliament can change that if need be,” he said. He predicted a mixed system of governance like the French system, whereby power is divided between the president and the prime minister.

John Ward – Chinese Reactor At Hinckley Point: Will It Be An Unstable Trojan Horse? – 17 October 2013

cnnclogotitleJust as with fracking, the Camerlot Coalition is rushing into a hasty energy deal with China that could have untold negative consequences on several dimensions

China National Nuclear council….contracted to build UK plant

The salutary lesson of New Labour’s naivety in dealing with Huawei Telecoms ten years ago clearly hasn’t been learned….if the Camerlot Coalition’s approach to a new Chinese-built nuclear reactor off Britain’s coast is anything to go by. Continue reading

John Ward – EU And US DEFAULT: Narrowly Averting The Inevitably Impossible – 17 October 2013

asteroidtitlePhew, the relief: the US looks like it is going to narrowly avert a default that was never going to happen. Yesterday I only averted a Tsunami by being in the Northern Hemisphere, and today I expect to narrowly avoid knocking down a herd of cows because there aren’t any here. Mind you, there’s only half the Aegean between me and them, so I must be wary. I’ll be giving a press conference this afternoon, and hope at that time to put my family’s concerns at rest. American Kabuki – Update On The Upcoming Trip To Morocco – 17 october 2013

By American Kabuki (Bill)

Just an update on the Morocco trip, my traveling friend has been delayed so I’ve decided that his time lines are probably not going to coincide with mine.    He’ll probably come along later once he gets his projects finished. I know he wants to meet Heather.  He has obligations he can’t get out of right now that prevent him from traveling.  So time for me to move forward with what I need to get done.  I am going to attempt to raise some funds for the $1500 airfare I need to get there on my own.  I know he’d buy it if he could go, but he can’t right now.
