Nader Hassan from the law firm Ruby Schiller Chan Hassan Barristers told the Peel regional council that they could be legally liable for harming residents whose health is put at risk by fluoridated water.
He outlined three laws that are being violated with the practice of fluoridation. Section 7 of the charter of rights and freedoms, the Ontario safe drinking water act, and the federal food and drugs act.
Peel regional council deferred any decision making until a meeting on September 11, 2014. Allowing the regions lawyers to analyze the legal briefing.
