France Kowtows To US By Suspending Mistral Delivery – Le Pen – 4 September 2014

France’s decision to suspend the delivery of the first of two Mistral helicopter carrier ships to Russia shows Paris’ obedience of American diplomacy, said National Front leader Marine Le Pen. Russia still believes that France will fulfill the contract.

France says it cannot deliver Mistral warship to Russia over Ukraine

“This decision is very serious, firstly because it runs contrary to the interests of the country and shows our obedience of American diplomacy,” Le Pen told France’s RTL radio.

She added that suspension of Mistral warships is also serious “for the reputation of France and the value of its word in trade relations.”

DOJ To Open Investigation Of Ferguson Police Department – 4 September 2014

The US Department of Justice will open a probe into the Ferguson Police Department over the August shooting death of an unarmed black teenager by a white cop, according to federal law enforcement.

The investigation by the US Justice Department will be carried out by the department’s Civil Rights Division and will examine “complaints of profiling and the use of excessive force” by the Ferguson police, officials who spoke on condition of anonymity told the Washington Post.

The probe, according to the officials, will focus not just on Ferguson, but other St. Louis police departments, many of which employ a majority of white police officers in predominantly African-American communities.

Donetsk People’s Republic In Talks With Russia To Supply Gas Bypassing Kiev – Report – 4 September 2014

Authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) say they are holding talks “at the highest level” in Moscow over the supply of Russian gas to the Donbass area bypassing Kiev.

“In Moscow we have discussed the issues concerning the heating season and gas. We have a separate pipeline and we were guaranteed to receive gas supplies. The pipeline comes into the Lugansk region and covers the Donetsk region. We are the only two regions that in general do not rely on Ukraine,” the Minister of State Security of DPR Leonid Baranov told RSN radio.

However it is too early to talk about the price the Donetsk and Lugansk regions will pay for gas as it is still being negotiated, he added.
