Coming Soon: 3D Printable Solar Panels Capable Of Powering… Anything – 10 September 2014

RT logoPrintable solar panels are going to be available to us very soon and could power “entire skyscrapers,” Australian researchers say. The very near future will see personal electronic charging transformed, but the potential is growing quickly.

A team of 50 scientists in various fields worked for years to develop paper-thin, printable solar panels as part of the Victorian Organic Solar Cell Consortium. They hope to see commercial market production for use in low-power applications in the very near future.

The key benefit of such technology is in transforming the way personal electronics are charged. “iPad covers, laptop bags, skins of iPhone [will no longer be] just for casing electronics, but to collect some energy as well and power those electronics,” Fiona Scholes, a senior research scientist at Australia’s national science agency CSIRO, told ABC News.

Ferguson Public Meeting Erupts In Anger And Accusations – 10 September 2014

RT logoThe Missouri town’s first public meeting since the shooting death of black teenager Michael Brown, 18, killed by a white police officer on August 9, turned chaotic with audience members shouting down Ferguson’s council members.

Despite being held inside of a chapel, Mayor James Knowles had trouble from the start maintaining peace and order during Tuesday’s stormy meeting, which was hoped to be a venue for recommending court and police reform.

Knowles opened the meeting by reciting some of the measures City Council had recommended, including the creation of a Citizen Review Board that would oversee the reform of the Ferguson Police Department, which consists of just three black police officers out of 53.

MPs Investigate Police Failure In Rotherham Child Abuse Scandal – 10 September 2014

RT logoThe police chief at the center of the Rotherham child abuse scandal has admitted to MPs that he had “singularly failed” victims and that he had “no idea what was going on” during his time leading South Yorkshire Police.

Meredydd Hughes, chief constable of South Yorkshire Police from 2004-11, told the Home Affairs Select Committee he had “no understanding of the scale and scope of what was going on in Rotherham.”

“This is a hideous crime, I am deeply embarrassed, I can say with honesty I had no idea of the scale and scope of this,” he added.

However, the Home Affairs committee criticized Hughes, telling the former Chief Constable that his ignorance over the activities was “totally unconvincing.”

‘Before Stonehenge, There Was Woodhenge And Strawhenge’: High-Tech 3D Digital Map Reveals Vast Ritual Monuments Complex – 10 September 2014

RT logoEddie Izzard, it seems, was right about the Druids. Before Stonehenge, there were indeed other “henges” on Salisbury Plain.

Thanks to a new, state-of-the-art 3D digital map, scientists have revealed that Stonehenge was surrounded by a sprawling landscape of chapels, burial mounds, massive pits and ritual shrines. Maybe not “Woodhenge” or “Strawhenge,” as comedian Eddie Izzard joked in his “Dressed to Kill” standup routine in his debunking of conventional views of history, but not far off.

The vast hidden complex of archaeological monuments has been uncovered around Stonehenge using high-tech methods of scanning below the Earth’s surface.

UK Military Plans 3 New Middle East Bases To Battle ISIS – 10 September 2014

RT logoThree British military bases could be set up in the Persian Gulf to fight the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS), a source in the Ministry of Defence said. The bases could be part of a larger US-led offensive to battle militants in Iraq and Syria.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE), Oman and Bahrain are all potential candidates to host the bases, the ministry source told the Times on Wednesday. The move would follow an agreement by NATO leaders to ramp up efforts to contain the terror threat emanating from the region.

UK forces already use the Al-Minhad airbase near Dubai to fly troops in and out of Afghanistan.

“You could see an infantry battalion based in Al-Minhad, being able to train alongside the Emirates,” a defense source said.

Jon Rappoport – CDC Whistleblower: This Is The Real Smoking Gun – 10 September 2014

jon7On August 27, CDC scientist William Thompson came out of the shadows and revealed that he had participated in a major scientific fraud:

He and his co-authors had published a 2004 study claiming there was no MMR-vaccine connection to autism. They had omitted vital data which contradicted that finding.

The MMR vaccine was causing autism. Thompson knew it. So did his co-authors. They buried that chilling fact.

In Thompson’s confession, released through his Cincinnati attorney, Rick Morgan, Thompson asserted that he would work with Congress, but he wouldn’t speak to reporters. Continue reading

Japan To Start Reopening Nuclear Reactors Under New Safety Regulations – 10 September 2014

RT logoJapan’s nuclear regulator gave the go-ahead to reopen some of the nation’s nuclear reactors, after nearly a year without nuclear energy. The restart of the industry will also result in the permanent closure of older plants.

The watchdog’s decision-making panel approved the final version of the screening report, which included public feedback. On August 19 the Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA) said that it received some 17,000 comments from the public on the draft version of the document.

The Kagoshima Prefecture plant will become the first to meet new safety regulations, which were introduced following the Fukushima power plant disaster of 2011. Presently, all of the country’s 48 reactors are offline, prevented from reopening because of safety concerns. The safety hurdles associated with old reactors are also more demanding than with newer power stations.
