Lavrov Tells US To Respect Syria’s Sovereignty While Tackling ISIS – 21 September 2014

Washington should respect the sovereignty of Syria in its attempts to deal with the Islamic state, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in a phone call with his US counterpart, John Kerry.

Lavrov and Kerry talked on Sunday at the initiative of the US Secretary of State, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said in astatement.

During the conversation, the Russian FM stressed “the importance of coordinated action… by the international community aimed at countering the threat” coming from the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS).

However, he warned against “double standards” and “distortion of facts” during the battle against the terrorist group, which has declared a caliphate in the occupied territories of Syria and Iraq.

Lavrov underlined “the necessity for strict adherence to the UN Charter and international law as well as unconditional respect for Syrian sovereignty during the implementation of plans by the US-led coalition, which includes the use of force,” the statement by the ministry said.

Boy oh boy, what a complex and diverse day of readings yesterday was, but not in the way I was expecting.  Silly me, I will get beyond expectation one day… soon I hope lol.  My first lady showed up still on this side of the moon, her hands clutching that electric wire as tightly as she could.  I actually blinked several times to be sure this is what I was actually seeing, given yesterdays touch down to the earth and stuff.  Nope, I couldn’t change it and finally understood this was exactly the place she was in.  Holding on so tightly to her old story, her old connections and her energy field was just spinning in circles and going nowhere fast.  Even the energy coming out of her mouth was tired, exhausted even, dare I say monotone.  This precious lady was given a gift of complete change several months ago, she acted on it, became uncomfortable and moved back into her old life, with all the old stories just repeating themselves.  Energetically, she is so prepared for this massive shift and yet, the unknown is too…. uncomfortable and she retreated to the old familiar.  Nothing I tried to do while in session with her would loosen the death grip she had on that electrical wire, stopping herself from going into the belly of the moon and emerging anew.

New Unpopularity Record: 86 Percent Of French Reject Hollande – 21 September 2014

The unpopularity of French President François Hollande fell to a record low in September, says a recent poll. Only 13 percent of French people say they are satisfied with Hollande’s performance as president.

86 percent of France’s population don’t support Hollande, says the IFOP [French Institute of Public Opinion] poll. Its results were published in Le Journal du Dimanche, a French weekly newspaper. The French president has lost four points since August.

The pollster interviewed 1,970 people, aged 18 and over, between September 12 and September 20.

US Admits There Is A Much Scarier Terrorist Group Than ISIS – 21 September 2014

New intelligence has emerged warning Washington that its upcoming confrontation with the Islamic State may leave it blind to a more sinister and direct threat from a much lesser known terrorist group that has arisen from the ashes of the Syrian war.

Very little information is being released at the moment by anyone within American intelligence circles, but the group calling itself Khorasan is said by officials to have concrete plans for striking targets in the United States and Europe as a chosen modus operandi – more so than the Islamic State (IS), formerly known as ISIS.

The first ever mention of the group occurred on Thursday at an intelligence gathering in Washington DC, when National Intelligence Director James Clapper admitted that “in terms of threat to the homeland, Khorasan may pose as much of a danger as the Islamic State.”

Don’t use them and they will go bust”. It’s not only nonsense of course (in almost every hitech/comms sector, demand still vastly exceeds supply) but it misses the point that I waste my time explaining to dweebs about once a quarter – at the end of which posts, they usually say the same thing again.

‘Liable For Damage’: Families Of Germans Killed In MH17 Crash To Sue Ukraine – 21 September 2014

The families of German citizens killed in the Malaysian plane crash in eastern Ukraine are planning to sue the Ukrainian authorities in the European Court of Human Rights, accusing them of manslaughter by negligence.

Ukraine should have closed its airspace if it couldn’t provide for the safety of flights over its territory, Elmar Giemulla, a professor of aviation law representing the three families of German victims,toldBild am Sonntag, a German Sunday newspaper.

“Each state is responsible for the security of its air space,” Giemulla said. “If it is not able to do so temporarily, it must close its air space. As that did not happen, Ukraine is liable for the damage.”

Afghan Presidential Candidates Sign Power-Sharing Deal – 21 September 2014

Two candidates in the widely disputed Afghan presidential elections, Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah, have signed a unity deal, officials confirmed. The deal will end long-standing tensions over the election results.

The deal signed at Kabul’s presidential palace will see Ashraf Ghani replace the current Afghan President Hamid Karzai. Abdullah will have the newly created post of chief executive, akin to a prime minister.

“I am very happy today that both of my brothers, Dr. Ashraf Ghani and Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, in an Afghan agreement for the benefit of this country, for the progress and development of this country, agreed on the structure affirming the new government of Afghanistan,” Karzai said after the signing.
