Monsanto Announces Major Losses After Settling Environmental Suit – 13 October 2014

RT logoBiotech giant Monsanto announced major losses for their fourth quarter last week well below analysts’ expectations after spending millions settling an environmental suit.

The St. Louis, Missouri-headquartered company announced a loss of $156 million, or 31 cents per share, on Wednesday, 7 cents per share beyond what analysts surveyed by both Bloomberg and Zacks Investment Research had expected.

According to the Associated Press, Monsanto managed to take the biggest blow during the last quarter due to a one-time payment made to settle an environmental legal case and, had it not occurred, the company would have lost only 27 cents per share. As RT reported at the time, residents of a West Virginia town where Monsanto formerly operated a chemical plant have since July been able to receive free medical monitoring or have their property cleaned-up thanks to a settlement agreement valued at over $90 million.

‘Bizarre’ Bible Ban: Is Christianity Declining In Britain? – 13 October 2014

RT logoDownload video (18.86 MB)

Christianity is supposed to be Britain’s national religion. However, as RT’s Polly Boiko finds, recent census data and polls suggest the faith is in decline.

The last UK census showed a dramatic decline in the number of Britons who classed themselves as Christian. In the 2001 census, 72 percent said they were adherents to the faith. That figure dropped to 59 percent by 2011.

“I wouldn’t say I’m religious, but I have my beliefs,” one Londoner told RT. “I have been brought up in a Christian family.”

Aisha North – A Short Update On The Energies – 13 October 2014

AishaNorthThe adjustments that have been undertaken recently will help to bring you all up to par as it were with the continuation of incoming energetic fluctuations, and so, even if some of you will still feel some temporary physical setbacks as the full scope of these energetic encodings enter your being, you will soon find yourself emerging from the fog as it were in every sense of the word. You see, as the ongoing inoculation if you will will continue to increase not only in magnitude but also in velocity, you will also continue to increase your abilities to incorporate them at an ever increasing speed. For now there is no holding back this flow of endless illumination, and so, as you continue to take in more of these energized particles with literally every breath you take, you are also in a continuous flow of expansion and eviction. In other words, as you continue to grow with this flow, you also continue to exhale whatever it is that your body has been holding on to, the detritus to use a familiar word of your former existence, and this will continue to exit your physical vehicle. UK Firm’s Spyware Used To Snoop On Bahraini Activists, Police Told – 13 October 2014

RT logoRights group Privacy International has filed a criminal complaint in the UK on behalf of three Bahraini activists living in Britain who were allegedly spied on by Bahraini authorities using British surveillance technology.

An investigation by the human rights group Bahrain Watch claimed that three pro-democracy Bahraini activists who were granted asylum in the UK, Moosa Abd-Ali Ali, Jaafar al-Hasabi and Saeed al-Shehabi, were spied upon using a software program called FinFisher.

“To find out that I was not even safe in the UK made me very upset,” said al-Hasabi. “It is wrong for the Bahrain government to be able to hack into my computer from overseas. And I think it is wrong for a British company to help them to do that.”

Catholic ‘Breakthrough’: Vatican Considers ‘Welcoming Gifts And Qualities Of Gays’ – 13 October 2014

RT logoThe Catholic Church, which previously condemned homosexuality as “intrinsically disordered,” is considering embracing homosexual believers, as well as partially accepting same-sex, and other religiously unsanctioned partnerships.

“Homosexuals have gifts and qualities to offer the Christian community: are we capable of welcoming these people, guaranteeing to them a further space in our communities? Often they wish to encounter a Church that offers them a welcoming home,” it said in a “relatio,” a document released at the half-way point of the Synod, a two-week discussion of Catholicism and personal relationships at the Vatican, attended by 200 senior bishops.

“Are our communities capable of proving that, accepting and valuing their sexual orientation, without compromising Catholic doctrine on the family and matrimony?”

John Ward – If I Were Nigel Farage, I’d Demand The Met Put A 24/7 Tail On Grant Shapps – 13 October 2014

faragshappsGrant Shapps on UKip April 30th 2013

“There’ll never be a Tory/UKip pact”.

David Cameron, 23rd May 2014:

Prime Minister David Cameron sought to quell speculation of a possible Conservative-UKIP alliance, saying that his party could achieve an overall majority in 2015 by itself.

“We are the Conservative Party. We don’t do pacts and deals. We’ll be fighting all out for a win at the next election,” he said.

Er, except the Liberal Democrats. But not Ukip. Oh dear me no. And Grant Shapps agreed on the same day: Continue reading

Voiceprint Harvesting – The Next Frontier In Data Privacy War – 13 October 2014

RT logoCorporations and governments alike are hungry for data on people. In addition to internet behavior records and mobile phone metadata, there is a little-known digital bounty they are after – voiceprints – and they’re harvesting them in their millions.

In fact corporate and government databases in the US, Europe and elsewhere contain more than 65 million samples of people’s voices, AP reports, citing interviews with dozens of industry representatives. Voiceprints are increasingly used for user identification, much like people recognize each other by voice.

“There’s a misconception that the technology we have today is only in the domain of the intelligence services, or the domain of ‘Star Trek,'” said Paul Burmester, of London-based ValidSoft, a voice biometric vendor. “The technology is here today, well-proven and commonly available.”

Israel’s Plan To Build 600 New Homes in E. Jerusalem Earns UN’s Anger – 13 October 2014

RT logoUN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has expressed his frustration at Israel’s settlement program, which plans 600 new homes in East Jerusalem. The new units are set to expand four existing settlements in the Palestinian city.

“I once again strongly condemn the continued settlement activity by Israel,” the UN chief told journalists after a meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah in Ramallah.

The Israeli government also plans to seize one square kilometer of farmland near Bethlehem, “intended for the construction of settlement units, parks, a synagogue and agricultural roads,” according to a report by the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

Sophia Love – So What Is Agape? Join The Quest, Day 1 – 13 October 2014

SophiaLoveNewThis Quest, in the strictest definition, is not really a Quest at all. For a “Quest” is defined as “a search or pursuit in order to find or obtain something”. You don’t have to “find” agape as much as allow it to be seen. You don’t need to “obtain” agape either – it is not “obtainable”.

Agape is the physical manifestation of truth. Agape is Source personified. Agape resides in the deepest, truest part of you. It is your beginning. It is something you already have, and therefore not “gettable”. Continue reading
