Anyone Threatening US Petrodollar Is Public Enemy No.1 – 10 November 2014

RT logoAnnie Machon is a former intelligence officer for the UK’s MI5, who resigned in 1996 to blow the whistle. She is now a writer, public speaker and a Director of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition.

Last Soviet leader, Mikhail Gorbachev, said at the celebration of the fall of the Berlin Wall last weekend that we are facing a new Cold War. What are the geopolitical realities behind this statement?

This weekend I was invited onto RT to do an interview about the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, particularly focusing on the speech delivered by the last Soviet leader, Mikhail Gorbachev, during his visit to Berlin.

I would like to expand on some of the topics I mentioned – how to encapsulate an alternative geopolitical perspective different from the Western orthodoxy in under four minutes? A task even Monty Python would find challenging!

The first issue was Gorbachev’s comments about a new Cold War. I would agree, and this is being fabricated by the USA, as that country always needs an Emmanuel Goldstein figure to justify its military-industrial complex that is bankrupting the country and brutalizing the world, while enriching the US oligarchs to the detriment of civil society everywhere.

Laura Bruno – Layers Upon Layers: Learning To See Beyond Apparent Dichotomy – 10 November 2014

laura-of-the-rocksI was going to write a much longer post, but I can’t get this song out of my head. It pretty much sums up what I would have said. Those who get it will make the connection. Those who don’t wouldn’t have gotten it from a 2,000 word post anyway.

The Faeries’ Oracle cards from Brian Froud offered “The Pook” as commentary:

“It is time for the resolution of seeming contradictions and paradoxes in the situation. Someone or some part of the situation is cloaked in confusion, and our muddled thoughts must be stripped away, revealing truth. We just need to think about it, the information we needed is now available to us. And as soon as we have that burst of insight and get it, it’s time for us to make changes based on our newly clear understanding.

“Alternatively, it may be time for us to make a reality check on the good/bad labels we put on things. Make a list of the “good” (possibly even surprising things) about this situation, and another list about the “bad” ones. If you are not in the habit of seeing the good in the bad and the bad in the good, having preferred a black-and-white world rather than one with colors, you may need some help in learning to do this well.”

“You enter the forest
at the darkest point,
where there is no path.

Where there is a way or path,
it is someone else’s path.

You are not on your own path.

If you follow someone else’s way,
you are not going to realize
your potential.” ~Joseph Campbell

“Maturity of mind is the capacity to endure uncertainty.” ~ John Filmore

“As human beings, not only do we seek resolution, but we also feel that we deserve resolution. However, not only do we not deserve resolution, we suffer from resolution. We don’t deserve resolution; we deserve something better than that. We deserve our birthright, which is the middle way, an open state of mind that can relax with paradox and ambiguity.”

Revolution? Or evolution? We don’t need another hero, but I am certain we’ll find ourselves presented with one. Might as well make the best of it, eh? 😉

Cash For Contacts: Tony Blair’s Illicit Saudi Oil Dealings Spark Outrage – 10 November 2014

RT logoFormer UK Prime Minister Tony Blair has signed a multimillion pound contract with a Saudi Arabian oil company to broker secret deals on the firm’s behalf with Chinese state officials, it has emerged.

Tony Blair Associates, an umbrella company owned by the former Labour leader, now a Middle East envoy, agreed in November 2010 to organize deals between oil company PetroSaudi and elite Chinese officials, a leaked contract seen by The Sunday Times suggests.

The deals were to be arranged during Blair’s visit to the Chinese capital of Beijing in November that year.

While the contract was in place, PetroSaudi reportedly paid Bair £41,000 a month to carry out these duties, and added a lucrative 2 percent cut of each successfully orchestrated agreement to the former prime minister’s paycheck.

PetroSaudi was reportedly informed it could not reveal Blair’s role in the business arrangement without permission. Despite the firm’s insistence the deal would remain shrouded in secrecy, the contract was leaked.

Greens, SNP & Welsh Nationalists Slam BBC Over Exclusion From TV Election Debates – 10 November 2014

RT logoThe Green Party, the Scottish National Party (SNP) and the Welsh nationalists Plaid Cymru have joined forces to urge the BBC to re-examine its decision to exclude “minor” parties from live televised debates in the run-up to the 2015 general election.

The calls come after an online petition with over 217,000 signatories protested against the BBC’s decision not to include the Green Party in live election debates.

In their joint letter, the three parties, backed by crossbenchers, call on the BBC to include a broader range of political opinion in the debates, citing “clear public support” for more diverse debates.

In October it was proposed that the UK Independence Party (UKIP) would join the three dominant parties, the Conservatives, Liberal Democrats and Labour, in a debate featuring the four party leaders – PM David Cameron for the Tories, Nick Clegg for the Liberal Democrats, Opposition leader Ed Miliband for the Labour party and Nigel Farage for UKIP.

John Ward – Juncker Innocent Of All Charges As Hucknell Found Guilty Of Being Sexually Extreme And Osborne Attacks “The Deviousy Innocent In Our Midst” – 10 November 2014

In a surprising decision tonight, Radio Luxembourg Managing Director and – by pure coincidence, President of Europe – Jean-Claude Juncker cleared himself of all association with tax-evading corporations and obese Greek Foreign Ministers who had placed huge sums of money at the disposal of his country’s banks while he was, ipso fact and de jure as such, running the country.

Speaking from inside his 40 cm thick Think Tank somewhere in Frankfurt, ECB boss Signor Mario Draghi said he was ‘f**ked off beyond belief” by the verdict, but added that he was sure all fair-minded Europeans would accept the verdict in the same way that the overwhelming majority of British citizens fully accepted the complete exoneration of Mrs Beecher Brooks as yet another sign of the level playing field of European civilisation. Russia Remains Key Strategic Partner For Total – New CEO – 10 November 2014

RT logoRussia remains a key strategic choice for French oil giant Total, the new CEO Patrick Pouyanne, has confirmed.

“We are speaking here about the most important strategic choice of Christophe de Margerie. We will remain in Russia for a long time,” Pouyanne said in an interview with Belgian daily Le Soir.

He admitted that Total became vulnerable with the Western sanctions imposed on Russia, as it has assets worth billions of dollars in the country.

“At the same time there [in Russia – Ed.] are vast natural resources,” he said.

Pouyanne said Total will stick to the European Union’s embargo, but thought it put Europe a greater risk.

Terrorist Attack In Britain ‘Inevitable’ – Security Chiefs – 10 November 2014

RT logoLevels of terrorist activity in Britain are so acute an attack is “almost inevitable” in the coming months, top security personnel have warned parliament.

Ministers are reportedly subject to daily updates on suspected terrorist activity, in the wake of what security officials say is a markedly increased terror threat since the formation of Islamic State (also known as ISIS, or ISIL).

As the West continues to launch airstrikes in crisis-ridden Syria, the terror group has ramped up its efforts to encourage its followers in Britain to engage in retaliatory terrorist attacks.

Scotland Yard and MI5 say they have intercepted three separate plots in London in the past 12 weeks alone. Two of the emergency raids were conducted against suspected terrorists who were allegedly preparing to carry out such attacks.
