US Police Employ Radar To ‘Look’ Through Walls – Report – 20 January 2015

RT logoDozens of US law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, have used radar devices that allow them to “see” through walls of buildings to monitor human activity, a new report states. This has led to questions regarding how legal these tactics are.

The policing agencies began using the radar device more than two years ago without public disclosure and little notice from courts until a recent case in Colorado revealed its use to catch a parole violator, according to USA Today. The device’s clandestine use has raised questions about Fourth Amendment protections against unwarranted police searches.

“The idea that the government can send signals through the wall of your house to figure out what’s inside is problematic,” said Christopher Soghoian of the American Civil Liberties Union. “Technologies that allow the police to look inside of a home are among the intrusive tools that police have.”

RT logoThe White House on Tuesday warned that United States President Barack Obama will veto two bills in the House of Representatives: one aimed at restricting access to abortions and another concerning natural gas pipeline projects.

However, if the Obama administration follows through with its threat to block the legislation, the White House may intervene and keep Congress from passing bills that will would prohibit abortion 20 weeks after fertilization.

The abortion bill, the White House said in a statement of administration policy on Tuesday, “would unacceptably restrict women’s health and reproductive rights and is an assault on a woman’s right to choose.”

Jon Rappoport – Exit From The Matrix: the liberated mind – 20 January 2015

jon7One way or another, 99.99999999% of the world’s spiritual systems get around to denying individual power. Eventually, they all proclaim that power is coming from someplace else.

Modern science is no better. It defines the mind as the brain and nothing more.

Reality is a cover story.

It conceals two operations.

The first is a series of vast manipulations that operate the true power centers of the world. Continue reading

Ex-MI6 Chief Calls For New ‘Spy Pact’ With Internet Firms – 20 January 2015

RT logoFormer head of MI6 Sir John Sawers, says intelligence agencies and tech companies need to begin data sharing in order to prevent terrorist attacks.

Sawers, who stepped down as the head of MI6 last November, said trust between spy agencies and internet companies needed to be rebuilt following the Snowden revelations.

In his first public address since standing down last year, Sawers believes such cooperation would help prevent attacks like those in Paris earlier this month. The ex-MI6 Chief, who will begin a new career in the private sector, said the internet could not have “no-go areas” which the government cannot access.

ZeroHedge – The “Deflationary Vortex”: Global Dollar Economy Suffers Biggest Plunge Since Lehman, Down $4 Trillion – 20 January 2015

ZeroHedgeOne of the macroeconomic observations that has gotten absolutely no mention in recent months is the curious fact that while global economic growth has not imploded in recent quarters, it is because GDP has been represented, as is customary, in local currency terms. Of course, this comes as a time when local currencies (at least those which are not the USD) have been plunging against the greenback on the back of the expectations that the Fed will hike rates some time in the summer or later in 2015. Which also means that in “dollar economy” terms, i.e., converted in USD, things are not nearly as good.

Web Founder Berners-Lee Slams UK Online Surveillance – 20 January 2015

RT logoThe internet’s founder Sir Tim Berners-Lee says the UK government is the best in the world for making data open, but the worst for spying on its own citizens online.

Speaking to the BBC on its ‘Democracy Day’, Berners-Lee said the UK was doing well in “getting people connected,” but it was also “getting famous” for its surveillance of citizens.

Last month, the UK scored poorly on the Web Index produced by Berners-Lee, although it scored above other countries, notorious for their free speech restrictions.

When Berners Lee released the index in December, he said the internet was “less free, safe and equal than ever.” He claimed to be wary of the web being used to “further concentrate economic and political power in the hands of the few.”
