While OPEC may well clamp down on this in June, as The Telegraph concludes, by then a barrel of oil may already be selling for $20.

Key Economic Forums In Russia And Asia Agree To Cooperate – 30 March 2015

Russia’s annual International Economic Forum held in St. Petersburg agreed to work together with Boao Forum for Asia, which is expected to create new investment opportunities across Russia, China and other Asia-Pacific states.

“The Boao Forum for Asia is the biggest in the region and one of the most representative in the world. By participating in the Boao Forum and cooperating with it, we gain a great opportunity for understanding Asia better and expanding our potential for economic collaboration,” Sergey Belyakov, Chairman of the Board of SPIEF Foundation said in a statement Monday.

The memorandum of understanding was signed on March 28, 2015 within the framework of the Boao Forum.

The Australian government’s failure to keep something as simple as personal details of leaders attending the G20 summit reveals its peculiar attitude to data retention, says Dr. Binoy Kampmark, a lecturer at RMIT University in Melbourne.

The 28 leaders who attended November’s G20 summit in Brisbane became the victims of a major privacy breach in Australia. During the event personal data was mistakenly sent to a wrong email address, according to a report in a UK newspaper. Australia’s immigration department, responsible for the breach, didn’t notify the leaders about it.

RT: There must be a few red faces in Australia from this? It is quite embarrassing, isn’t?

Dr. Binoy Kampmark: It is given the fact that the Australian government at the moment is emphasizing the importance of data retention and keeping such material in such a manner that is readily available for authorities in the context of security given the fact that such material is so easily disclosed in such a fashion makes of course their particular cause a bit suspect.

Okinawa Overrule: Japanese Minister Vetoes Local Governor On New US Military Base – 30 March 2015

Efforts on the part of residents of a rural town in Okinawa to block construction of a new US military base faced a major setback when the Japanese fisheries minister intervened on behalf of the new development.

On Monday, Japan’s Fisheries Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi “temporarily invalidated” the Okinawa governor’s order to halt construction of a new US air base, which has been a source of discord among residents of Okinawa, the southernmost island of Japan that supports some 26,000 out of 47,000 American military personnel, the Asahi Shimbun reported.

The new US air base planned for the rural town of Nago, on reclaimed land adjacent to a US military base called Camp Schwab, would replace the Futenma Air Base, some 50km (30 miles) away in a congested urban area in central Okinawa.
