ZeroHedgeAuthored by Stefan Kawalec, originally posted at Project Syndicate,

The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), which the European Union and the United States currently are negotiating, would, studies say, boost welfare and reduce unemployment in both economies, as well as in other countries. Senator Feinstein Calls For Internet Ban Of Anarchist Cookbook And Inspire Magazine – 4 April 2015

RT logoFollowing the arrest of two women in New York for allegedly conspiring to build a weapon of mass destruction, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) called for the banishment of a bomb-making book and an Al-Qaeda-published magazine from the internet.

Feinstein is currently Vice Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, but under her chairmanship of the committee, which ended last year, she was responsible for the release of the report on the CIA’s use of torture against detainees during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. She released her request on Friday.

I am particularly struck that the alleged bombers made use of online bomb making guides like the Anarchist Cookbook and Inspire Magazine. These documents are not, in my view, protected by the First Amendment and should be removed from the Internet,” said Feinstein in a statement.

Kansas To Allow Concealed Carry Without Permit Or Training – 4 April 2015

RT logoKansas Governor Sam Brownback (R) signed a law authorizing the carrying of concealed handguns in the state without a license or a training requirement. When it goes into effect, Kansas will become the fifth state with such a concealed carry law.

“I am pleased to sign Senate Bill 45 bill today. I have been – and continue to be – a strong supporter of Second Amendment rights,” Brownback said Thursday as he signed the bill, flanked by Republican lawmakers and representatives from the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the Kansas State Rifle Association (KSRA).

The bill, known as constitutional carry, was introduced into the state Senate with 26 co-sponsors – five more legislators than necessary to pass the bill, the Wichita Eagle reported. It passed the GOP-led Senate 31-7 in February. One Republican voted against the bill, and two Democrats voted for it. In the state House of Representatives, the bill passed 85-39 at the end of March, with four Democrats supporting it, and 16 Republicans voting against it.

Around 100 members from the two far-right groups gathered outside the London Central Mosque and the Islamic Cultural Center in central London as Muslims entered the building to observe Friday prayers or Jumu-ah.

The nationalists were waving Union and St. George’s flags and some of them were dressed in niqab veils and pig head masks as they chanted anti-Islamic messages.

DHS Chief Apologizes To Congressman Over Secret Service Leak – 4 April 2015

RT logoThe director of the United States Department of Homeland Security has personally apologized to the congressman overseeing a probe of the Secret Service after embarrassing details about the lawmaker leaked to the press.

DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson made a telephone call on Thursday evening to Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), the chair of the House Oversight Committee, after the congressman claimed that Secret Service employees have been circulating personal information about him, including details revealing he had been turned down for a job with the agency more than a decade earlier.

Chaffetz, the committee’s top Republican, is leading the panel tasked with examining a recent incident in which two Secret Service agents drove through the scene of an active bomb threat investigation in front of the White House; in recent days, he’s subpoenaed at least two members of the agency.
