CIA Tries To Crack Down On Harassment, Leaves Employees Unhappy – 10 June 2014

In an attempt to crack down on workplace misconduct, the CIA has disciplined 15 of its employees for sexual, racial, or other types of harassment over the course of last year.

The action was taken throughout 2013, but the issue became a topic of heated internal discussion over the last few weeks, when the head of the CIA’s Office of Equal Employment Opportunity sent out a message to its employees describing what had done to combat instances of harassment.

According to the Associated Press, the internal message stated that of 69 harassment complaints made during the 12 months ending September 30, 2013, exactly 15 of them were credible.

Two Dead After School Shooting In Oregon – 10 June 2014

A suspected gunman and one victim are both dead after shots were fired at a high school in Troutdale, Oregon early Tuesday.

Police responded to reports that shots were fired at Reynolds High School at 8:07 a.m. local time as the situation unfolded in the small town around 16 miles east of Portland, OR. Seventy minutes later, local news networks reported that the Multnomah County Sheriff Office’s had confirmed the shooter was dead and the situation stabilized.

ZeroHedge – B-1 Stealth Bomber “Friendly Fire” Strike Kills 5 US Soldiers In Afghanistan – 10 June 2014

It seems President Obama’s “pullback” is not going as planned in Afghanistan. NBC News reports 5 U.S. soldiers killed in Afghanistan may have been the victims of a friendly-fire incident. American and Afghan troops were conducting security sweeps on polling sites ahead of this weekend’s run-off for the Afghan presidential election when they came under attack from Taliban forces. The Americans called in an airstrike amid fierce fighting and, according to U.S. officials, the B-1 Stealth Bomber strike somehow went terribly awry.
