Rear admirals Terry Kraft, Michael Miller, and David Pimpo were issued censure letters by Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus over their role in the Glenn Defense Marine Asia (GDMA) corruption case, more specifically during a 2006 deployment of the USS Ronald Reagan.

Crime And Punishment: Confiscate Rogue Bankers’ Salaries & Bonuses, Says UK Regulator – 12 February 2015

RT logoBritain’s financial regulator may force reckless and corrupt financiers to pay back their salaries and bonuses to state authorities in an effort to clamp down on rampant financial crime. Experts doubt the policy will prove effective, however.

The Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) suggested policy shift follows a soon-to-be implemented EU bonus cap, fiercely opposed by City bankers and the British government.

The EU-wide measure was created to curb financiers’ colossal salaries and rogue behavior.

But prior to its implementation the move has backfired and prompted a further rise in bankers’ basic salaries, opponents say.

Steve Lendman – Presstitute Pro-War Chorus – 12 February 2015

StevelendmanPresstitution in America is longstanding. The Brian Williams saga says less about him and more about a corrupted institution proliferating Big Lies on issues mattering most.

Famed journalist George Seldes (1890 – 1995) railed against against “prostitution of the press” in the 1920s and 30s.
He called fourth estate presstitutes “the most powerful force against the general welfare of the majority of the people.”
When America goes to war or plans one, media scoundrels march in lockstep. MSM pseudo-journalists operate as “shills, sellouts and media whores,” says Gerald Celente.

US Military To Train Kiev Troops Fighting In E. Ukraine – US Army Commander – 12 February 2015

RT logoThe US military will train Kiev troops fighting against militias in southeast Ukraine, Ben Hodges, US Army Europe commander, said hours before the start of “Normandy Four” talks dubbed a “last chance” for the peaceful resolution of the conflict.

The training, which is scheduled to kick off in March, will see a battalion of American troops training three battalions of Ukrainians, he said.

“We’ll train them in security tasks, medical [tasks], how to operate in an environment where the Russians are jamming [communications] and how to protect [themselves] from Russian and rebel artillery,” Hodges was cited as saying by Reuters.

Hodges’ recent statement echoes a similar announcement he made in Kiev in January. At the time, he did not provide information on the numbers of US troops participating.

US Court Tosses Out Mass Surveillance Case Against NSA, AT&T – 12 February 2015

RT logoA longstanding case against the NSA – filed before the Snowden revelations were made public – has suffered a setback as the judge rules the plaintiff is unable to demonstrate she was placed under illegal surveillance.

In 2008, the Electronic Frontier Foundation brought a case (Jewel v. NSA) on behalf of five plaintiffs who alleged that the NSA and AT&T were engaged in an “illegal and unconstitutional program of dragnet communications surveillance conducted by the National Security Agency and other Defendants in concert with major telecommunications companies,” according to the original complaint.

The plaintiffs, who are described in the court document as “ordinary Americans who are current or former subscribers to AT&T’s telephone and/or Internet services,” initiated their lawsuit after it was revealed by former AT&T technician Mark Klein that the communications giant had a secure room where customer data was being collected by government agents.

ZeroHedge – Guest Post: Understanding The Fear Of Self-Defense And Revolution – 12 February 2015

ZeroHedgeSubmitted by Brandon Smith via Alt-Market.com,

Our era is a strange one when considering how social attitudes have developed in such a contrary fashion to the rest of history. I think that our forefathers would look upon our current culture with bewilderment when confronted with the fact that our generation has all but abandoned the option of physical rebellion as a tool for social change. Even among the most enslaved of nations and peoples, the idea of revolution has been held in regard as an entirely moral and principled affair involving every individual, no matter their age or economic station. Today, however, that which we call “revolution” has been delegated mostly to college-age intellectuals and has been so watered down and whitewashed with politically correct restrictions that the concept is hardly recognizable.

‘No Jobs Without Experience, No Experience Without Jobs’: Young UK Workers Face Catch-22 – 12 February 2015

RT logoTo the frustration of young jobseekers nationwide, most employers say work experience is a critical factor when recruiting, yet 80 percent do not offer work experience programs to school students, a study has shown.

A survey of 18,000 UK employers by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills found that two-thirds of employers say they value work experience as the highest factor when employing, compared with half who said the same about academic qualifications.

Of the 80 percent who said they do not offer student placements, one-fifth said “nothing could persuade” them to do so.

Obama Asks For ‘3Yrs, No Territorial Limits’ Formal War Authority To Target ISIS – 12 February 2015

RT logoUS President Barack Obama has asked the Republican-led Congress for formal authorization for use of military force against jihadist group Islamic State and associated forces in order to “show the world we are united in our resolve to counter the threat.”

Obama’s proposal, sent to Capitol Hill on Wednesday this week, calls for a three-year authorization to combat militants, with no specific geographic limitations applied to US forces and “flexibility” regarding the number of ground troops involved.

“The resolution we submitted today does not call for the deployment of US ground combat forces to Iraq or Syria,” Pres. Obama told the nation during a televised address from the White House later in the day. “It is not the authorization of another ground war, like Afghanistan or Iraq. The 2,600 american troops in Iraq today largely serve on bases and, yes, the face the risks that come with service in any dangerous environment, but they do not have a combat mission.”

ZeroHedge – Austria’s 3rd Largest Bank Goes Full Bear Stearns: CEO Blames “Short Sellers” For Firm’s Demise – 12 February 2015

ZeroHedgeYou know it’s bad when… you start blaming speculators. Very reminiscent of the “it’s not us, we have a solid balance sheet, it’s the short selling speculators” bullshit in the days before and after the stock crashes of American Insurance Group, Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch; mere days after his bank’s bonds crashed, the CEO of Raiffeissen Bank (Austria’s 3rd largest) has stated (unequivocally) that “panic was created artificially,” blaming short-sellers for his bank’s demise.

RBI CEO Svelda tells DiePresse.com,

This panic was created artificially to a certain degree.

25 percent of our free float was shorted. As some have speculated neatly on falling prices and our share beaten down properly.

And the whole thing because of an initial loss of 493 million euros?”

Yep all short-sellers…
