US Ramps Up Iraq Troop-Training Mission To Counter Growing ISIS Threat – 17 November 2014

Washington says the Pentagon is speeding up its efforts to train Iraqi forces in the fight against the Islamic State. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel also mentioned that US troops already in Iraq would be used.

General Lloyd Austin, head of US forces in the region, made the request to accelerate the process. Around 50 special operations troops are at the Ain Al-Asad airbase, which was used by the US military in the Iraq War from 2003-11. They are working on training programs to try and counter the threat of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) militants.

“We agreed with General Austin’s recommendations to take some of the special operations forces that he has in Iraq and give them some early missions with the Iraqi security forces in Anbar province just to kind of continue the mission, accelerate the mission,” Hagel said, speaking to reporters at the Army’s National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California, which was reported by Reuters.

Bird Flu Discovered On Yorkshire Farm – Health Risk Low – 17 November 2014

A strain of avian flu has been discovered on a British poultry farm, officials have confirmed. Experts maintain that the risk to public health is “very low.”

The duck breeding farm in Yorkshire was found to be infected with a strain of the deadly disease on November 15.

Officials from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) have not confirmed the exact strain, but have ruled out the H5N1 form, which is transmittable to humans.

Well, Washington and its string of puppets did try to turn the G20 into a farce. Fortunately the adults in the room had some business to do.

The five BRICS member-nations – despite their current problems, the G5 that really matters in the world – did meet before the summit, including the ‘isolated figure’. Economically, this G5 more than matches the old, decrepit G7.

G20 Aim To Add $2Tn To Global Economy By 2018 – 17 November 2014

Leaders of the G20 left Brisbane with a plan: to collectively boost the global economy by $2 trillion by 2018, and to implement structural reforms to “re-balance” and strengthen it. This would be a 2 percent increase to the world’s $74 trillion economy.

The “Brisbane Action Plan,” outlined in the official communique, looks to ramp up investment, trade, employment, and establish more sound macroeconomic policies.

The G20 countries collectively controls 85 percent of the global economy and 75 percent of world trade.

Anonymous claims it has taken down several Ku Klux Klan websites and Twitter accounts as part of what internet hacktivists describe as a “cyber war”, inspired by KKK threats of using “lethal force” against Ferguson protesters.

Anonymous listed the KKK websites it put offline Sunday night on its Twitter feed, with reports on the attacks coming with the hashtag #OpKKK.
