ZeroHedge – Prepare For GDP Downgrades: Eurasian Snow Flashes Polar Vortex 2.0 Warning – 19 October 2014

ZeroHedgeJust when you thought it was safe to believe in escape velocity GDP growth for the US economy… the weather ruins the party. As Bloomberg reports, the snow in Siberia is piling up, and if it keeps coming, people in New York may have to bundle up this winter as theory suggests that the amount of snow covering Eurasia in October is an indication of how much icy air will sweep down from the Arctic in December and January, pouring over parts of North America. “It’s still early in the game,” says one forecaster, but warns “the snow has gotten off to an incredible start.” Polar Vortex 2.0 here we come… and down goes US GDP…

In a submission presented to the Swedish Court of Appeal on Friday, Assange’s lawyers claim that he “is most likely under auditory surveillance,” the Daily Mail reports.

The defense also urged the Swedish side to hand over text messages, sent by one of Assange’s accusers, which they believe could serve as evidence that there was no ground for the arrest warrant. Assange says they reveal the woman’s ambiguity over his arrest and even her opposition to the case, based on sexual assault allegations.

Tough On Trolls: UK Internet Abusers May Face Up To 2 Years In Jail – 19 October 2014

RT logoInternet trolls could face two years behind bars if new tough legislation “to combat cruelty” is adopted, according to UK Justice Secretary Chris Grayling.

That’s four times the current six-month prison term and would proove the government’s zeal to “take a stand against a baying cyber-mob,” Grayling told The Daily Mail.

“These internet trolls are cowards who are poisoning our national life. No one would permit such venom in person, so there should be no place for it on social media. That is why we are determined to quadruple the current six-month sentence,” Justice Secretary added.

Larry Larson – Twelve – Twelve Insight Journal – What Are You Surrendering To? – 19 October 2014

LarryLarsonI am wondering how you define surrender, and how we can tell when we should surrender or take action? I realize surrender is action, I am sure you know what I mean. LOL! – Inner Circle Member

Knowing what you are surrendering to is more important than the concept of surrender. After all, people surrender themselves all the time, and they’re not very happy with it. Someone becomes extremely ill and suddenly entire nations are swept up in panic at the thought. The thought of disease, loss, fear of being overpowered by something over which you have no control—there are many beliefs to which you have surrendered long before that person became ill. A European space observatory picked up an unusual signal which British astronomers believe to be the first direct detection of dark matter’s signature. The finding could be a historic breakthrough in our understanding of the universe.

Invisible dark matter – which neither emits or absorbs light – is believed to account for 85 percent of the matter in the universe, and is thought to explain the gravitational pull that keeps galaxies from flying apart.

It has been a mystery for over 30 years – but now a potential clue has been found by scientists in Leicester, UK. An inexplicable signal was discovered in data obtained by nearly 15 years of measurements by the European Space Agency’s orbiting XMM-Newton observatory. A study by astronomers at the University of Leicester will be published on Monday in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society journal.

Laura Bruno – Cultivating Beauty: Fall Garden Photos – 19 October 2014

laura-of-the-rocksToday, my friend Jerry of the Large Truck helped me gather concrete blocks to line our landlord’s garage (a barrier between mulch and siding), straw bales for winterizing beds, rebar for protecting trees with chicken wire, and potting soil for winter sowing herbs. The guy at the concrete pickup commented, “Well, surely, your garden must be just about done, isn’t it? All packed up?” Um, not exactly. I told him I grow all fall and winter, and things were still quite lush, thank you very much. 🙂

As integrated beings who are part of Nature, we can hold, embody and honor all the contrasts, both the flowering abundance and the rotting into compost, which brings forth fertility and life. As one season fades into another, we need not mourn or fear what comes. Death is part of life, and if you keep sowing seeds, then life keeps popping up throughout the year. Today’s misty Northern California weather surrounds the flowers like a soft blanket of autumn beauty. From my heart to yours, enjoy!

Fidel Castro Offers Cooperation With US In Fight Against Ebola – 19 October 2014

RT logoFidel Castro has expressed Cuba’s readiness to cooperate with the US in the global fight against Ebola. Cuba has been on the frontline of international response to the worst outbreak in the disease’s history.

In his article “Time of Duty,” which was published on Saturday, the retired Cuban leader said that medical staff trying to save lives are the best example of human solidarity. Fighting together against the epidemic can protect the people of Cuba, Latin America, and the US from the deadly virus, he added.

“We will gladly cooperate with American [medical] personnel in this task – not for the sake of peace between the two states which have been adversaries for many years, but for the sake of peace in the world,” wrote Castro.
