Jon Rappoport – Explosive: Ben Swann: US Government Holds Patent On Marijuana As A Medicine, But Still Officially Outlaws It – 21 April 2015

jon7Everybody knows the US federal government still officially considers marijuana an illegal drug.

But as Ben Swann reports, the government also holds a patent on it as a medicine.

(“Feds Say Cannabis Is Not Medicine While Holding The Patent on Cannabis as Medicine”).

That’s right.

The patent # is 6,630,507 (“Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants”). The holder of the patent is “The US government as represented by the Department of Health and Human Services [a cabinet post under the President].” Continue reading

‘Canadian Troops In Ukraine Could Help Train Far-Right Extremists’ – 21 April 2015

RT logoIt is impossible for Canadian military personnel in Ukraine to weed out far-right militants when training, as some of the groups have been absorbed into the military, James Bissett, former Canadian ambassador to Yugoslavia, Albania and Bulgaria told RT.

RT: The Canadian government seems confident that it can weed out far right extremists from the troops they will be training. Do you share that optimism?

James Bissett: That is of course nonsense. They will not be able to do that because some of the extreme militia like the Azov Battalion and others that we’ve seen on your screen are being incorporated into, or absorbed into, the Ukrainian army, into the National Guard. How are Canadian trainers going to make those distinctions between who are good guys and who are bad guys? They simply won’t be able to and I don’t think they are going to be trying very fastidiously to make that kind of identification.

Unions, Activists Look To Derail Trans-Pacific Partnership Fast-Track – 21 April 2015

RT logoTrade unions, populist activists and many Democratic lawmakers are rallying against the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal. They say the secretive treaty is harmful to US workers, the economy and environmental policies.

Social justice activists from more than 30 states marched in downtown Washington, DC on Monday, chanting “This is what hypocrisy looks like!” and carrying signs such as “Dump TPP: Don’t trade away our future.” They called on Congress to vote against giving President Barack Obama the authority to “fast-track” the treaty.

Proponents claim the TPP, the largest trade deal since the 1994 North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), would open up Asian markets to US exports.

Jon Rappoport – The Medical Cartel: Too Big To Fail, Too Evil To Expose – 21 April 2015

jon7There are several reasons why the medical cartel is too big to fail: the enormous amount of money at stake; its aim to control populations.

In this article, I want to examine a related reason.

Suppose it was discovered that thousands of bridges around the US were in imminent danger of collapsing? Not because maintenance and repair were lacking, not because the materials used to build them were cheap and shoddy. But because the original designs were inadequate and broke basic rules of engineering.

Suppose five or six major manufacturers built their automobiles so the vast majority of power derived from the engines was transferred to one wheel? Continue reading

Apple, Google Helping Terrorists With Encryption – Manhattan DA – 21 April 2015

RT logoAllowing users to take advantage of advanced encryption in order to keep their messages and mobile communication out of the government’s hands will only help terrorists plot future attacks, a top New York law enforcement official said.

The new encryption services offered by Apple and Google will make it harder to protect New Yorkers, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, Jr. told local AM970 radio host John Cats. He mentioned built-in encryption – which Apple claims its own engineers cannot break – means that federal and local law enforcement bodies won’t be able to intercept communications between potential criminals and terrorists, even if they acquire a warrant.

When Cats suggested, “terrorists are running out to buy iPhones,” Vance responded by saying, he was “absolutely right.”

Cash-Strapped Athens Orders Public Bodies To Send Funds To Central Bank – 21 April 2015

The Greek government has issued a decree envisaging the coRT logompulsory transfer of local and regional authorities’ cash reserves to the country’s central bank. It explained the move by saying it was an “urgent and unforeseen need.”

“Central government entities are obliged to deposit their cash reserves and transfer their term deposit funds to their accounts at the Bank of Greece,” the decree published on the government website on Monday said. The “regulation is submitted due to extremely urgent and unforeseen needs,” it added.

The government is ready to make an exception for funds needed by local authorities to make their immediate payment needs. The decree also excludes pension funds and some state-owned firms. It acts retrospectively from March 17.

Ever since the measles outbreak in Disneyland, there has been a determined effort by legislators in California, to repeal the state’s current vaccine exemptions. If they succeed, the only way parents can skip their children’s vaccinations is if there is an acceptable medical reason. As you can imagine, those who are deeply concerned over the safety and efficacy of vaccines have every reason to fear these developments.

Baltimore Still Struggling For Answers In Death Of Freddie Gray – 21 April 2015

RT logoBaltimore City officials say they have started to carry out an autopsy on a local man who died on Sunday. This comes a week after Freddie Gray’s spine was severed while he was being held in police custody.

Investigators said during a press conference on Monday that they plan on wrapping up an investigation next week concerning Gray’s death, with results from the probe expected by May 1.

The findings will be forwarded to the state attorney’s office, according to Baltimore officials, which will subsequently rule on the case. A third review board will also examine the matter “to take an honest look at our investigation as a whole,” Police Commissioner Anthony Batts said on Monday.

‘Supervoid’ Is 1.8 Bn Light-Years Across, The Largest Single Structure In Universe – Study – 21 April 2015

RT logoAstronomers have discovered a vast supervoid measuring 1.8 billion light-years across. They believe this will provide new insight into the remaining mysteries of the Big Bang.

The massive spherical blob known as the supervoid may be “the largest individual structure ever identified by humanity,” according to lead researcher for the project, István Szapudi, of the Institute for Astronomy at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.

“Using data from Hawaii’s Pan-STARRS1 (PS1) telescope located on Haleakala, Maui, and NASA’s Wide Field Survey Explorer (WISE) satellite, Szapudi’s team discovered a large supervoid, a vast region 1.8 billion light-years across, in which the density of galaxies is much lower than usual in the known universe,” a press release stated.

“This void was found by combining observations taken by PS1 at optical wavelengths with observations taken by WISE at infrared wavelengths to estimate the distance to and position of each galaxy in that part of the sky.”

The angular diameter of the vast supervoid aligned with the Cold Spot, which exceeds 30 degrees, is marked by the white circles. Graphics by Gergő Kránicz. Image credit: ESA Planck Collaboration.

US State Department To Teach Indian Journos ‘Honesty, Impartiality’ – 21 April 2015

RT logoThe US Consulate in Hyderabad is set to team up with a non-profit organization to create an ethics course in journalism. It is aimed at allowing those in the Indian media to get a better knowledge and understanding of “international industry standards.”

The State Department wants the course to include the key standard bearers of quality international journalism, such as “accuracy, honesty, transparency, impartiality and accountability.” It says it is prepared to spend up to $25,000 on achieving this goal.

Whether in a touch of irony or not, they even propose naming the course ‘blurred lines’ after Robin Thicke’s 2013 hit.
