FARAGEr&sPurple haze over Rochester…but is this democracy, Jim?

This was, for me, the most interesting statistic from Rochester & Stroud last night:

Libdems 349

Loony    151

The loss of 95.5% of your supporters is some feat. But to poll just 198 votes more than the Monster Raving Loony Party is an unparalleled collapse. Continue reading

Victory Sign: Deaf Baby Is First To Register Sign-Language Name On Birth Certificate – 21 November 2014

RT logoA deaf baby has become the first person to have their name officially recognized on their birth certificate in British Sign Language (BSL), following a nine-month legal campaign by her parents.

Hazel, who is known by the sign UbOtDDstarL to her family, won the right to have her sign name included on her birth certificate nearly four years ago, after her parents overturned the decision made by the Register Office to deny BSL on the official document.

Her parents, Paula Garfield and Tomato Lichy, said they wanted her BSL name on her birth certificate because there was no way to translate the sentiment into a written name.

The vehicle has the capacity to travel up to 300 kilometers on a single tank of gas; or the equivalent of five people’s annual waste products.

The gas is being produced by energy firm GENeco at a Wessex water sewage plant.

John Ward – Exclusive : Euro To Drop Fiat Status And Adopt new Commodity Backing – 21 November 2014

eurobogM. Jean-Clauder Juncker test-drives the new euro

After a great deal of deliberation, altercation, masturbation and machination, the Bundesbank and the European Central Bank have decided to relaunch the euro, which will in future be backed by the Bog Standard. Although not at first sight the most prepossessing name one might choose, it turns out on examination to be an inspired choice.

First and foremost, the acronym matches that of the Bank of Greece, thus signalling that the currency’s backup will be dodgy, overvalued, and run by con artists who could sell gefillte fish in Tehran. Continue reading

John Ward – Barclay Brothers: Just How Deliberately Obtuse They Will Be In Order To Get Cameron Out – 21 November 2014

The Sarkograph has been using cod demographic nonsense to suggest that a win in Rochester will be much more significant than the win in Clacton, because the voters there have brains or professional jobs or some other such guff. It’s rubbish: Reckless is going to win in Rochester because (a) he is the sitting MP with an unfair head start on everyone else, and (b) every voter loves to kick the government in the scrotal sac.
