British Elite Unit Carrying Out Secret Missions In Iraq, Hundreds Of ISIS Militants Killed – 24 November 2014

RT logoBritish SAS troops have been conducting secret missions that have killed hundreds of Islamic State militants. Using quad bikes and 4×4’s in Iraq, they have been seeking out enemy forces usually at night, killing up to eight terrorists a day.

Sources from the Ministry of Defense had previously stated that the Special Air Service (SAS), which is an elite unit of the British Army, had only been involved in non-combat missions. However, aside from operating in a reconnaissance role in Iraq, they have also been taking part in eliminating IS militants, a special report by the Mail on Sunday found.

The SAS has been making good use of intelligence to identify potential targets, mainly through the use of drones. Once an objective has been identified, the troops are dropped in IS territory by Royal Air Force Chinook helicopters, sometimes 50 miles (80 kilometers) from their intended target, as the engines of the helicopters are so loud.

Netanyahu Govt Approves Disputed Bill Making Israel Nation-State Of Jewish People – 24 November 2014

RT logoFollowing heated debate, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet has voted in favor of anchoring in law the status of Israel as “the national homeland of the Jewish people,” which critics fear would discriminate the Arab population.

According to the draft law, Israel’s Basic Laws would no longer define it as “Jewish and democratic” country, but as the Nation-State of the Jewish People.

15 Israeli ministers in the cabinet supported the ‘Jewish state bill,’ with only six, including Israeli Justice Minister, Tzipi Livni, saying ‘no’ to the initiative on Sunday.

The bill now has to be approved by the country’s parliament, Knesset, which is scheduled to vote on it on Wednesday.

Netanyahu said that it’s high time to amend the legislation as the idea of Israel being the national homeland of the Jewish people is challenged by many inside and outside the country.

RT logoGermany’s FM, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, has said he is against Ukraine joining NATO. In an interview with Der Spiegel, he said he considers “that it is possible for NATO to have a partnership with Ukraine, but not membership.”

He also added that he does not believe it is realistic for Ukraine to join the European Union in the foreseeable future, as the economic and political modernization of Ukraine is a “project for a few generations.”

He also urged Kiev to introduce reforms to fight corruption and mismanagement of the economy, saying they had to start immediately and that there was no time to lose.

Forget: ‘Are We There Yet?’ The Car Apps That Will Revolutionize Road Travel – 24 November 2014

RT logoDriving a car, particularly with annoying children in the rear seats, could soon be revolutionized, becoming a fascinating way to experience the world. That’s if you install the right apps. And indeed, the most unbelievable apps are coming soon.

Exhibits at the LA Auto Show confirm the trend: interactivity of the driver and passengers with a car’s onboard computer and handheld apps is set to change not just their usability, but also our lifestyle and very concept of spatial motion.

No more vegging out, watching through the windshield – the journey will come right inside your car, say companies who develop apps and infotainment interfaces that will inform, assist and anticipate your needs on the go.

Those hungry for information will be getting instant access to information about any landmarks they dart past, predicts Mary Ann de Lares Norris, chief operating officer at Oblong Industries, a company creating innovative interfaces.

Sophia Love – Why Is It So Hard To Remove The Ego? – 24 November 2014

SophiaLoveNew“Why is it so hard to remove the ego?”

Such a very powerful question. The ego is what keeps us here. It is the 3D version of our eternal essence, and thrives on addiction. It has to believe in the “reality” of life here, what some call an illusion or a dream, and in order to do so, must hang on fiercely to something dense and solid. This could be the body (and what feeds it, starves it, strengthens it or weakens it), the slings and arrows of emotional wounding, the hardship of work or the poverty of perceived lack. Each is a fabrication, existing only in the realm of the ego, yet oh so real as we make a life here on earth in 3D.

The ego has a purpose and it will not be thwarted. It will go to any lengths to keep you believing in its solidity and reality. Any lengths, including suicide. Not to sound morbid but most of us know of at least one other, even remotely, who has taken their physical life. The reason? Pain of some sort, self defined and experienced. Continue reading

Controlled Fix: Canada Starts Prescribing Heroin To Drug Addicts – 24 November 2014

RT logoDoctors in Vancouver, Canada, have become the first medics in North America to administer prescription heroin to drug addicts. The treatment will only be given to a group of patients who failed to respond to traditional therapies.

“For this group the addiction is so severe that no other treatment has been effective,” David Byres, vice president of acute clinical programs at Providence Health Care, told Canadian media.

“The goal is stabilization,” The Globe and Mail Newspaper cited Byres as saying.

The program will be performed in Providence Crosstown Clinic in Canadian city.

Byres added that the treatment is only prescribed for those patients for whom traditional therapies such as methadone have failed to work at least 11 times.

Canadian doctors are trying the treatment on a group of 202 patients, of which 120 have received diacetylmorphine (heroin) prescriptions.

However, only 26 addicts will get their first heroin treatment next week, as so far there are only enough drugs for that number of people.
