EU, Kazakhstan Agree On Enhanced Cooperation – 9 October 2014

The EU and Kazakhstan have signed an agreement in Brussels Thursday, forging closer economic and political ties.

President Nursultan Nazarbayev also met with European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.

Brussels and Almaty will enhance cooperation on 29 key sectors- including economic, financial, energy, transport, environment, climate change, employment, education and research.

Kazakhstan is the biggest economy in Central Asia, and has large oil reserves, and is the world’s largest producer of uranium. It is also closely politically aligned with Russia, and along with Belarus is a member of the Eurasian Economic Union, which comes into force on January 1, 2015.

Russia, EU, Ukraine Fail To Reach Agreement At Gas Talks – 2 May 2014

Russia, Ukraine, and the European Union failed to reach an agreement on gas supply issues during three-party talks in Warsaw on Friday. Kiev vowed to fulfill its gas transit obligations, but did not say when it plans to repay debt to Russia’s Gazprom.

According to EU energy commissioner Guenther Oettinger, the sides have agreed to hold two more rounds of consultations, in two and four weeks. During their next meeting in mid-May, the sides will focus on gas prices for Ukraine, Oettinger told journalists on Friday.

Moscow, Kiev, and Brussels gathered in Warsaw to search for a solution to the “crisis situation” around Ukraine’s payments for Russian gas, the Russian Energy Ministry said earlier.

US and EU diplomats have said they will help Ukraine cut back on Russian gas, and also promised to help diversify the Russian-dominated European energy market, a difficult long term task for energy-dependent EU countries.

US Secretary of State John Kerry, EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton and other energy advisors met in Brussels on Wednesday for an energy summit.

“Developments in Ukraine have brought energy security concerns to the fore and prove the need to reinforce energy security in Europe,” the summit statement said.

Ukraine is the main transit route for Europe-bound Russian gas exports – about a third of Europe’s gas passes through the country – and is therefore crucial to energy stability.

EU, US Impose Sanctions Against Russian Officials After Crimea Referendum – 17 March 2014

US President Barack Obama has ordered that sanctions be applied against 11 Russian and Ukrainian officials, the White House said. Earlier, the EU imposed sanctions against 21 officials after Crimea declared its independence.

The US has imposed sanctions against Russian and Ukrainian officials on Monday, with the White House stating that “the actions and policies” of the Russian government with respect to Ukraine “undermine democratic processes and institutions in Ukraine; threaten its peace, security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity; and contribute to the misappropriation of its assets.”

Obama’s executive order applies to seven top Russian officials, including presidential aide Vladislav Surkov, presidential adviser Sergey Glazyev, State Duma deputy Leonid Slutsky, member of the upper chamber of the Russian parliament (the Federation Council) Andrey Klishas, head of the upper chamber of the Russian parliament Valentina Matvienko, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin and State Duma deputy Yelena Mizulina.

EU, Canada Agree Free Trade Deal – 21 October 2013

The EU and Canada have tentatively agreed a free trade deal after more than four years of negotiations.

It is expected to increase bilateral trade in goods and services by a fifth to 25.7 billion euros a year, according to the latest EU estimates.

The EU and Canada did more than 80 billion euros in such trade in 2012, according to Commission figures.

Lucas Comment:  The new Treaty worked out by the EU en EUROZONE states seems to be a small version of a New World Order : the ESM – European Stability Mechanism. This ESM ruled by governors have no accountability to anyone, no courts, no parliaments, no governments and can take money from the treaty member states even sue states for not giving the money requested. This seems to be an ultimate Illuminati trick to use the crisis to bind the EUROZONE and EU states into a rule by ESM that takes money and can use money as it sees fit. Therefore it can use the money for making policy or repress or even blackmail states or people who do not work with them or do what the money kings say. It seems to me this new pending treaty should be stopped by the people. No more tyranny of money rule and undemocratic treaties, laws, rulings. No more leaders or officials without any form of democratic accountability to the people.  No more enslavement via debt. This has to end now.
