Logo_activistpost-comCould Vermont be the first state to enact a genetically modified food labeling law?

Senate President Pro Tempore John Campbell, D-Windsor said:

We are saying people have a right to know what’s in their food.

On Tuesday, the Vermont Senate cast its votes for a bill that would require GMO labels on food products.

Campbell and other bill supporters believe the bill is legally airtight. Nevertheless, they carved out a fund for legalities, such as if food producers who are sure to dislike the bill decide to sue.

Logo_activistpost-comA Florida-based mom and advocate for medical Cannabis freedom received an ominous visit from the Department of Children and Families after someone offered up an anonymous tip that she was giving her son illegal marijuana – and had stopped his prescribed drugs.

They cornered and questioned her daughter about their family life, asking the little girl all kinds of personal questions about her mother, whom she very much supports in her efforts.

ActivistPost – Heather Callaghan – Mountain Man Back In Jail, Supporters Want To Arrest Judge – 11 February 2014

Logo_activistpost-comNatural living mountain man, Ernie Tertelgte of Manhattan, Montana has become an Internet favorite for his tenacious defense of sovereignty and strict adherence to original court system procedures, even acting as his own defense.Last year, we showcased his breathtaking speech to a judge that made her walk out of the room. In November he was at it again, not so much as physically standing up to be detained by bailiffs because even that would be acknowledging kangaroo court mandates. When we left off he was awaiting a sentencing and received a $1500 fine. All of this, you may recall, surrounded Ernie attempting to catch a fish and eat without having a fishing licence and a charge of resisting arrest.

ActivistPost – Heather Callaghan – No-Brainer Course In Derailing The Trans-Pacific Partnership – 10 January 2014

If you doLogo_activistpost-comn’t know what it is yet – that means it’s working. The secrecy, that is. But once Pandora’s Box is opened, there’s no putting anything back. It will go down in history as one of the worst, oppressive plagues to saturate the planet.

Like Spider Man trying to stop a train from going over with nothing but his strength and shooting threads; we are going to need all the Web we can get to stop the fast-tracking Trans-Pacific Partnership from running over us. Perhaps more aptly, it is a tangled web we’ll be left trapped in as prey if we do nothing.

Here’s a crash-course and the easiest approach – all guesswork removed. But first, here’s a sampling of what you can kiss goodbye if this mammoth piece of legislation goes through…

ActivistPost – Heather Callaghan – Mixed Reactions To Cheerios Dropping GMOs – 5 January 2014

Logo_activistpost-comA year ago at this time, Cheerios cereal company owned by General Mills had a serious mess on their hands. A campaign started by GMO Inisde, a part of Green America, created an uproar of consumer backlash at Cheerios’ use of genetically modified ingredients. Meanwhile, General Mills had donated over a million dollars to fight GMO labeling.

An unstoppable (and rather humorous) flurry of anti-GMO consumer outcry splashed Cheerios’ social media pages for weeks causing them to remove a Facebook application. When Cheerios tried to defuse the bomb, it got worse, no doubt because of their patronizing tone. Little did we know they really “we(‘)re listening.”
