Putin, Obama In ‘Brief Meeting’ At APEC summit – 10 November 2014

RT logoVladimir Putin has met with Barack Obama on Monday in Beijing at the APEC summit, the Kremlin has confirmed. With relations between Moscow and Washington strained, the encounter between the two leaders was hardly more than a mere greeting and small talk.

Dmitry Peskov, Putin’s press secretary, said the two said hello and had a brief talk at the welcoming ceremony.

“There was no conversation,” Peskov said. “Actually, they greeted each other – there was a short contact on the sidelines of the event we were talking about.”

However, Putin and Obama may still have a full-length meeting on Tuesday, a highly-ranked US official told RIA Novosti news agency.\

Putin, Xi Jinping Sign Mega Gas Deal On Second Gas Supply Route – 9 November 2014

RT logoPresident Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping have signed a memorandum of understanding on the so-called “western” gas supplies route to China. The agreement paves the way for a contract that would make China the biggest consumer of Russian gas.

Russia’s so-called “western” or “Altay” route would supply 30 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas a year to China.

The new supply line comes in addition to the “eastern” route, through the “Power of Siberia” pipeline, which will annually deliver 38 bcm of gas to China. Work on that pipeline route has already begun after a $400 billion deal was clinched in May.

Putin, Poroshenko Meet On D-Day Sidelines, Call For End To E.Ukraine Bloodshed – 6 June 2014

Putin and Poroshenko also agreed that there is “no alternative” to “peaceful political means” to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

Putin, Obama Discuss Political Chaos In Ukraine – 29 March 2014
