A “worldwide ethical mobilization” which “will spread and put into practice a shared ideal of fraternity and solidarity, especially with regard to the poorest and those most excluded”. The Pope called for this in his address to the UN System Chief Executives Board for Coordination on Friday morning, 9 May, in the Consistory Hall.
Underlining the goodness of the work carried out by the international organizations represented, “especially in terms of education and the decrease in extreme poverty”, the Pontiff urged them to continue because, he said, they “deserve and expect even greater results”. In this regard, he recalled that “an essential principle of management is the refusal to be satisfied with current results and to press forward, in the conviction that those gains are only consolidated by working to achieve even more”.
