Egyptian security forces have disarmed an extremist group that was preparing attacks last week in Cairo during the Eid al-Fitr holiday following the fasting month of Ramadan.
The gang, which included 15 people, hid out in the deserted area in Wadi en-Natrun north of Cairo.The seized extremists had in their possession three grenade launchers, 30 machineguns, seven sniper rifles, ammunition, explosives and grenades, modern means of communication.
