Laura Bruno – The Self Reliance Summit Is Really Good So Far! – 2 October 2014

laura-of-the-rocksI didn’t blog about The Self Reliance Summit ahead of time, because I wasn’t sure how it would be. Sometimes Self Reliance folks make the leap into major doom and gloom prophecies, so I wanted to observe the vibe of this Summit before alerting readers to it. Over a half hour into the first talk, I’m really impressed!

I had heard Marjory Wildcraft (http://growyourowngroceries.org) before, but until this afternoon, I knew nothing about Nathan Crane, the man putting together the Self Reliance Summit. I was so pleased to hear that the reason he looked forward to interviewing Marjory is that she embodies such tremendous joy getting in tune with the Earth and growing her own food. In addition to her expertise, he likes her attitude. They both value growing food for positive, empowering reasons, rather than from a place of fear. So far, they’ve talked about growing your own food, activating your root chakra, the importance of positive vibration, Cuba’s agricultural renaissance, making the shift to local foods, tips for beginning gardeners, and analysis of the financial crashes in 2000 and 2008 — all in a very upbeat, “what lessons and blessings can we take away from this” kind of way. Jon Rappoport – “Tracking Ebola Contacts”: Call In The Surveillance State – 2 October 2014

jon7Now that the US has its own “Ebola case number 1” in isolation at a Dallas hospital, it can swing into gear tracking his/her contacts, and the contacts of those contacts.

Never mind that “case number 1” is unproven as an Ebola carrier (see my previous piece, “Is 1st US Ebola patient a hoax?”).

Who cares? It’s hunt and search and isolate in America. And if this campaign gains real steam, the Surveillance State will be deployed, as a “friend of the people.” Continue reading

While rejecting aerial bombings of targets in Iraq, Abadi called the same type of warfare a “bonus” when it comes to Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) targets in Syria.

“Because without that I cannot defeat ISIS in Iraq. To defeat ISIS, its basis need to be destroyed in Syria, they must be eliminated and that is part of the process,” Abadi told the British channel in Baghdad on Wednesday.

Germany’s Largest Public Broadcaster Admits ‘Too Little Russian Interests’ In Ukraine Coverage – 2 October 2014

RT logoThe chief director of ARD, Germany’s largest public TV broadcaster, responded to viewers’ criticism and the supervisory committee over its coverage of the Ukraine crisis. He said it conveyed Russian interests “too little” and could question NATO more.

Kai Gniffke, the TV channel’s editor-in-chief, published a statement on his blog on Tuesday, stating: “Maybe we have conveyed too little of Russian interests to the German viewers. We could possibly have examined the position of NATO even more critically.”

Speaking on the war in Syria and Iraq, as well as the Islamic State, Gniffke said “it is only now that the powder fume over Ukraine has shred away.” He added that “mainstream news issues” have “too easily” diverted the attention of editors.
