Laura Bruno – In Case You Wondered … – 21 October 2014

laura-of-the-rocksNo, it’s not just you.

A lot of people really are going bonkers right now, and even if they manage to keep it together upstairs, people’s bodies are making up for that apparent sanity by manifesting all sorts of crazy symptoms and outbursts. If you work in a healing capacity and you’ve received emergency phone calls, emails, texts and various other requests or demands for help, no, it’s not just you. If your calendar has so many things crossed out, added in and rearranged that you can only write in the margins, no, it’s not just you. If you’ve lost a cat, objects, friends and/or your mind, no it’s not just you. Continue reading

Immigration Surge? Obama Administration To Order Millions Of Blank IDs, ‘Green Cards’ – 21 October 2014

RT logoIn a move that may hint at future executive action on American immigration policy, a federal agency stated that it will look for a company to supply millions of blank work authorization and residency permits.

Specifically, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) department posted a draft solicitation earlier this month announcing its intention to seek a vendor capable of delivering “an estimated 4 million cards annually with the potential to buy as many as 34 million cards total.”

The solicitation – which tips off potential bidders of upcoming announcements so they can prepare proposals – also states that the cards would need to be delivered over the course of five years.

“The objective of this procurement is to provide card consumables for the Document Management Division (DMD) that will be used to produce Permanent Resident Cards (PRC) and Employment Authorization Documentation (EAD) cards,” the solicitation reads.

‘Bee Killer’ Pesticide Provides Little Benefit To Farmers – EPA – 21 October 2014

RT logoThe Environmental Protection Agency has confirmed that a popular class of insecticide used to treat soybean seeds provides little or no benefit to the farmers – the pesticide, however, is the prime suspect for the deaths of 30 million honeybees.

The EPA’s Biological and Economic Analysis Division (BEAD) made its conclusion after analyzing 26 published studies on the pesticide-treated soybean seeds and studying yields over a four-year period. They found no difference in soybean yield when using the treated seed, and it did not protect the bean any better than if there was no pest control.

John Ward – How Cameron Conservatism Is Killing Free Speech In The Name Of Fictitious Liberty – 21 October 2014

iraqnvesThat’s enough non-violent extremism, thank you

I wonder if enough people have paid more than cursory attention to what David Cameron actually said at the UN on September 25th last. The speech’s high (or low depending on your preference) point was to define non-violent extremists as “responsible for the existence of ISIS”. As Mr Cameron has a First from Oxford, it seems unlikely he can claim ignorance for making such an idiotic remark. He lauded Recep Erdogan as a great man four years ago of course, but that was based on an FCO briefing, and the FCO has been wrong about everything since 1926. This is rather different: maybe MI6 thought it was a good line to float out there, I don’t know. But that a man of Cameron’s educational background wants a clampdown on non-violent extremists gives a lot away about what the Camerlot Coalition is really about. Continue reading

A breathtaking video filmed by an Icelandic helicopter pilot has documented the continuous eruption of the Bardarbunga volcano in northeast Iceland. Enormous fiery bubbles of lava and steam can be seen bursting from the ridges in the ground.

Helicopter pilot Gísli Gíslason captured the wondrous images while on several trips over the volcano – some of which were taken on Friday, and others a few days previously.

“Almost seven weeks have now passed since the Holuhraun lava eruption began. The eruption is continuing with few changes. The eruption is showing no signs of slowing down,” he wrote in the video’s description.
