Thanks Giving ; the origins of the feast you may have been taught in school or by your parents. Most  see it as a feast that remembers like all great holidays and gatherings to be the appreciation of each others company, and the  love and respect of family, friends and loved ones. It is about enjoying a meal and a nice day or few days together.  Most of you will have in some way  the need of reflections on your relationships with your dear ones. It is more often also a feast of not only giving but also fore-giving.

Recently here on CLN I wrote of my own difficult experience in making my way in the world using spiritual principles. I am an educator, futurist, writer and speaker whose passion is for Deep Futures – futures where the technological and economic is more evenly balanced with the deeper spiritual aspects of human existence.

In that article I wrote of how, in the years after I begun my own spiritual journey, I had more than a decade of largely positive outcomes and experiences. But this was followed by several difficult years where I struggled, primarily at a professional level. During the “good” years I found work easily, almost effortlessly gained a PhD, successfully published books, academic papers and articles. Money flowed to me easily.

Major US Lenders Could Pay Additional $104 Bln In Legal Charges – S&P – 27 November 2013

The eight biggest US banks, including JPMorgan and Bank of America may need to spend an extra $104 billion to settle mortgage-related issues. That’s two thirds of $154.9 billion banks’ reserves that they accumulated to stand the potential legal costs.

The major US banks may have to pay an additional penalty of between $56.5 billion and $104 billion in potential mortgage payouts, according to the rating agency Standard & Poor’s.

“Notably, mortgage-related litigation has recently gotten a second wind and has expanded beyond investor claims,” S&P credit analysts led by Stuart Plesser wrote in a report.

ZeroHedge – Iran Seizes Saudi Fishing Vessels, Arrests 9 Sailors – 27 November 2013

It didn’t take long to escalate Iran-Saudi relations, or the lack thereof, following this weekend’s nuclear (non) deal. Moments ago Iran’s Fars news agency reported that Iran’s coast guards have seized two Saudi fishing vessels after they entered the Islamic Republic’s territorial waters, a provincial official announced on Wednesday. “Yesterday, the coast guards deployed in the country’s Southern waters came to spot two vessels in Iran’s protected waters in the South using electronic and optic tools and equipment,” Commander of Bushehr province Coast Guards Qalandar Lashkari said. He said that the Iranian coast guards rushed to the scene and were faced with two vessels which were illegally fishing in the Iranian waters under the Saudi flag.
