WakingTimes – E. Dahl – Prescriptions Or Plants: Time For A New Medicinal Mindset? – 22 July 2014

waking_times_logo_6-5-12_1A word is a thought expressed, and it has been said that our thoughts speak louder than our words. The power of the mind is still virtually unknown. A light switch turns on and off and the differences are apparent, and the same holds true for our perception and how we believe. It is my personal belief that we will either our sickness or our well-being; we have the ability to anticipate success or failure. As an example, if you receive a terminal diagnosis, you either turn the switch off or allow it to come into fruition, or you change your mindset and lifestyle to do whatever it takes in order to live. And it all begins within the mind. The same holds true in medicine.

California Curbs Injection Of Toxic Fracking Waste Into Aquifers Needed In Severe Drought – 22 July 2014

RT logoCalifornia is shutting down 11 oil and gas wastewater injection sites and reviewing over 100 others in the state’s drought-ravaged Central Valley as officials fear companies have pumped toxic fracking fluids into needed drinking water aquifers.

The California Division of Oil and Gas and Geothermal Resources issued cease and desist orders on July 7 to seven energy companies, warning that they may be injecting hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, waste fluids into aquifers, which “poses danger to life, health, property, and natural resources,” the state wrote. The orders were confirmed with ProPublica after they were first reported by the Bakersfield Californian.

The demands come at a time of unprecedented drought in the state that has hit California’s top agriculture areas, emptying reservoirs and costing the state $2.2 billion thus far this year. The lack of water has forced the state to use supplemental water supply from underground aquifers, the University of California-Davis reported in a study released last week.

UK To ‘Decriminalize’ File-Sharing – 22 July 2014

RT logoThe British government has decriminalized the act of online video game, music and film piracy, after branding harsher punishment plans as “unworkable.”

Beginning in 2015, internet users who persistently file-share will be sent a series of warning letters explaining that their actions are illegal. However, authorities will take no further action if the user continues downloading the material.

The aim of the letters is to boost consumer awareness of the array of legitimate online media outlets such as Netflix, and deter people from using file-sharing software.

Burger King, Starbucks, Japanese Branches Of McDonalds Joins China ‘Rotten Food’ Scandal – 22 July 2014

RT logoChina’s fast food scandal has spread to Burger King, Starbucks and the Japanese branches of McDonalds as the chains admit using rotten meat from a supplier in Shanghai.

On Tuesday, Starbucks said some of its cafes previously sold products containing chicken originally sourced from Shanghai supplier Husi Food Co Ltd, Reuters reports. Starbucks says it removed from shelves sandwiches made with chicken that originated at Husi.

McDonald’s apologized on Monday to Chinese customers for apparently using rotten chicken and beef from Husi in its products, and has admitted that Japan branches have also sourced meat from the Shanghai company since 2002. The fast-food chain said it stopped selling chicken McNuggets supplied by Husi at more than 1,300 outlets across Japan.

Claims About MH17 That MSM Fails To Question – 22 July 2014

RT logoBefore any investigation into the MH17 crash even started, Western politicians and the media were quick to pin the blame for the tragedy on Russia. The parts of the story that do not support the theory seem to have been simply disregarded.

A UN Security Council resolution, unanimously adopted on Monday, urges a “full, thorough and independent international investigation” into the MH17 crash.

But for some it’s already clear who is to blame.

ZeroHedgeIt may be back to square 1 for Obamacare.

Moments ago, in what NBC classified as a “potentially lethal blow to Obamacare” a federal appeals court has ruled that the federal government may not subsidize health insurance plans bought by people in states that decided not to set up their own marketplaces under Obamacare. The law clearly says that states are to set up the exchanges. But 34 states opted not to, and the federal government took over in those states.
