NYPD Caught Dumping Gloves, Masks From Ebola Site Into Street Garbage Can – 24 October 2014

New York City police officers working around the Harlem apartment of Craig Spencer, the doctor who tested positive for the Ebola virus on Thursday, were caught discarding their protective gloves and masks in a street-corner trash bin.

Accordingto the New York Post, the NYPD cordoned off the entire block in front of Spencer’s building on W. 147th Street. Authorities inside the apartment were reportedly wearing hazmat suits, so its possible that the gear-discarding officers were only on patrol outside the building.

Nevertheless, thevideo clipfirst posted by the Daily Mail caused a stir on Twitter.

I have so much to catch up on with these sharings, sorry I have been flat-out the last several days.  I swear the moment I lay down to go to sleep, my body descends into hell.  While chilling with the eclipsing sun yesterday, I literally begged for mercy, for a full, uninterrupted nights sleep and by george, I got it!!  PHEWWWWW!!  The first thing I did when I opened my eyes today, was smile that refreshing, satisfying smile!!  Enough about me… lol  Ohhh and also, for those who are not on my facebook, my oncologist had a family emergency yesterday and could not do my marrow extraction, he rescheduled to Tuesday morning at 9am.

St. Louis Teen Shot 6 Times From Behind – Independent Autopsy – 24 October 2014

A black teenager, killed by an off-duty police officer in St. Louis, was shot eight times, six of the bullets striking him from behind, an independent autopsy by a famed forensic expert revealed.

The autopsy was performed at the request of the victim’s family by Dr. Cyril Wecht, who has previously investigated the deaths of John F. Kennedy, Elvis Presley and JonBenet Ramsey.

According to Wecht, 18-year-old Vonderrit Myers was shot eight times. Six bullets hit the back of both his legs, one shattered his femur and another struck the side of his head, inflicting a fatal injury.

Attorneys for the dead young man’s family believe the autopsy results suggest Myers was running away from the police officer.

Syria Asks For Free Trade Zone With Russia – 24 October 2014

Syria has applied to be part of a free trade zone with Russia. The proposal will be discussed at a Eurasian Economic Commission’s (EEC) session, scheduled for December 23.

Russian Deputy Economic Development Minister Aleksey Likhachyov said Friday that Syrian authorities submitted an application earlier in October. He said talks on forming a free trade zone had been held before the war erupted in Syria.

“We have reached agreements in some sectors that are of particular importance for our country. And there are more hidden opportunities that will let us develop further cooperation,” Syrian Finance Minister Ismail Ismail said Friday during a session of the Russian-Syrian Intergovernmental Commission in Sochi.

Due to some recent questions via private email, I felt led to clarify a few points in today’s blog post. Most of the people I encounter are, in fact, experiencing evidence of positive trajectories in their lives. Clients, friends, family members … so many of them have recently broken through previous barriers or show signs of imminent release from old bonds and limitations. I see this, feel this and celebrate the shifts. Yet I also realize when talking to friends who have “regular jobs” in “the real world,” that the slice of humanity I encounter on a daily basis represents a relatively small, unusually conscious, highly creative, and determined segment of this world. I have great hope for humanity in that I see and hear — daily — evidence of people stepping into their power, growing their own organic foods, creating spaces for others to shine their creativity, finding alternatives to the usual suspects pulling puppet strings, and generally being the change they wish to see in the world.

CCTV Video Captures Ottawa Gunman’s Parliament Rampage – 24 October 2014

With Canada’s capital was left shaken by a double shooting, surveillance footage has appeared detailing the gunman’s movements as he took down Army Reservist Corporal Nathan Cirillo and prepared to storm the parliament building.

On Wednesday morning, Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, 32, approached the National War Memorial in Ottawa where reservist Nathan Cirillo was standing guard with a purely-ceremonial weapon. The assailant opened fire on the guard with a hunting rifle identified by police as a 30-30 Winchester lever-action gun. He shot at another guard, but missed before sprinting to a beige car, purchased the day before the attack, and taking off.
