Life without health insurance has become extremely painful for one Georgia woman, who recently described how four different hospitals declined to treat her for a tumor that had grown to the size of a beach ball.

According to WSB-TV in Atlanta, Doris Lewis of Newton County said she simply thought she was gaining weight when a tumor in her body began growing. As it got bigger and bigger, however, it became clear that something was wrong.

In just two months, the 59-year-old woman’s stomach ballooned to the size of a beach ball.

Breaking News : 24 Killed In Libya Clashes, Authorities Close Benghazi Airport – 16 May 2014

RT logoTwenty-four people were killed in Friday clashes between two militias and army troops loyal to a rogue general in Libya. The country’s authorities called the military offensive a “coup” and closed Benghazi’s airport.

Military aircraft and helicopters fighting for General Khalifa Hifter were involved in the clashes and were spotted flying over Benghazi, Libyan security officials said, as quoted by AP.

We have closed the airport for the safety of passengers as there were clashes in the city. The airport will be reopened depending on the security situation,” Reuters quoted Ibrahim Farkash, director of Benghazi’s Benina Airport, as saying.

Hifter’s troops surrounded the bases of Islamist militia Rafallah al-Sahati and a militant group known as February 17, according to officials.

Jon Rappoport – Why The FDA Should Be Charged With Murder – 16 May 2014

jon7If you worked for a federal agency that was killing people at the rate of 100,000 a year, every year, like clockwork, and if you knew it, wouldn’t you feel compelled to say or do something about it?At the FDA, which is, in fact, killing Americans at that rate, no one has ever felt the need to step forward and speak up.

Let’s shift the venue and ask the same question. If you were a medical reporter for a major media outlet in the US, and you knew the above fact, wouldn’t you make it a priority to say something, write something, do something?

I’m talking about people like Sanjay Gupta (CNN, CBS), Gina Kolata (NY Times), Tim Johnson (ABC News), and Thomas Maugh II (LA Times). Continue reading

13,000 Yo Skeleton Sheds Light On Native American Origins – 16 May 2014

RT logoDivers have uncovered what they think is the oldest skeleton in the Americas, which dates back 13,000 years and belongs to a teenage Mexican girl. The DNA is very ancient, older than the east-Asian ancestors of ancient Native Americans.

The study, led by the Mexican government’s National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) with support from the National Geographic Society, was published in the journal Science on Friday.

The 15-16 year old Naia, as the scientists called her, was probably searching for water when she plunged to her death into an underground cave system during the last Ice Age. The place is ominously known as the ‘Hoyo Negro’ – the Black Hole – and is located in the Yucatan Peninsula in southeastern Mexico.

The announcement came Thursday, with the Associated Press reporting that Albuquerque Police Department Chief Gordon Eden said the promotion of both Timothy Gonterman and Anthony Montano would help the force implement reforms outlined by the Department of Justice.

As RT reported previously, police in the area have come under fire for using excessive force in situations where it was deemed unnecessary. In a report on law enforcement’s behavior, the Justice Department reviewed 20 fatal shootings between 2009 and 2013, concluding that most of the fatalities were unnecessary and that “systematic change” was needed moving forward.
