common-dreamsAustralia: Tens of Thousands ‘March in May’ Against Abbott and Austerity

‘These marches signify major concern with current government policies, dissatisfaction with a stagnant two-party political system, and the disturbing motivations and influence of those with money and power.’

– Sarah Lazare, staff writer

Tens of thousands marched in cities across Australia on Sunday to protest the policies of Prime Minister Tony Abbott following the recent release of his administration’s austerity budget.

The 2014 federal budget has been slammed for measures that critics charge will devastate Australia’s poor, including huge cuts to unemployment and welfare benefits, education, and health care. Abbott’s popularity ratings have tanked following the release, according to recent polls.

Jon Rappoport – 9-Year Olds Can Get Sex-Change Drugs – 19 May 2014

jon7The Telegraph is reporting that British children of both sexes, as young as nine, will be able to take drugs to block and disrupt the onset of puberty…thus allowing later sex-change procedures to move along more easily.

Requirements: parents approve, and the child is “mentally healthy.”

This adds new information re the agenda of sexualizing young children, and also the general transhuman program.

In a half-sane world, the researchers behind this plan for children would be sent to a remote desert island for the rest of their lives. Or they would be executed. Continue reading

Coffee Prices Skyrocket As Fungus Kills High-End Beans – 19 May 2014

RT logoIf you’ve noticed the cost of a cup of coffee at your local shop has been inching up lately, it’s because a fungus has decimated Central America’s Arabica bean crop. Now the US is stepping in to try to eliminate the deadly coffee rust fungus.

Leaf rust, or la roya in Spanish, is a yellow- and orange-colored, plant-choking fungus that has devastated coffee crops from Peru to Mexico over the past three years, costing $1 billion in damages in Central America in the late harvest season of 2012 alone. The fungus is especially ruinous to the Arabica bean, which is used in higher-end coffees, as it is said to produce better-tasting coffee than the other major commercially grown coffee species. It contains less caffeine but a more robust flavor. Arabica accounts for 75 to 80 percent of the world’s coffee production, according to the Coffee Research Institute.

The effects of leaf rust have decimated local economies.

Tax-Free Pot: Uruguay Moves Further In War Against Marijuana Black Market – 19 May 2014

RT logoUruguay, which has legalized marijuana, will also exempt pot production and sales from taxes. The move is designed to keep prices low enough to undercut black market cannabis, according to government advisers on the legalization.

The principal objective is not tax collection. Everything has to be geared toward undercutting the black market,” Felix Abadi, a contractor who is developing Uruguay’s marijuana tax structure, told Reuters. “So we have to make sure the price is low.”

Despite global criticism, in December 2013 Uruguay became the first country in the world to make it legal to cultivate, sell, and consume marijuana. Earlier in May, authorities signed regulations accompanying the law, specifying that every Uruguayan will able to buy in licensed pharmacies up to 10 grams of pot a week for just about US$0.90 per gram.

ActivistPost – Michael Snyder – Is The Mainstream Media Dying? – 19 May 2014

Logo_activistpost-comRatings at CNN, MSNBC and Fox News have all been plummeting in recent years, and newspaper ad revenues are about a third of what they were back in the year 2000.  So is the mainstream media dying?

Despite what you may have heard, the mainstream media is certainly not completely dead just yet.  The average American watches approximately 153 hours of television a month, and as I pointed out in a previous article, about 90 percent of the “information” that is endlessly pumped into our heads through our televisions is controlled by just six gigantic media corporations
