Russia is rich in what China needs most. Oil and gas mainly. Technological expertise. Industrial equipment. Sophisticated weapons.

CIA Barred From Using Vaccinations As Cover After Dozens Of Doctors Killed – 20 May 2014

The White House has announced that the CIA will never again set up a fake vaccination program as part of its espionage efforts, following the lethal response to the strategy it employed before raiding Osama bin Laden’s compound in 2011.

The promise was made in a letter to the deans of 12 public health schools – who have criticized the Obama administration for using a vaccination effort as a cover for reconnaissance – and was written by the president’s top counterterrorism and homeland security advisor, Lisa Monaco.

In the wake of the CIA’s attempt to confirm bin Laden’s presence in Abbottabad through a fake hepatitis B immunization campaign, many residents and local governments in Pakistan as well as Afghanistan have refused to take part in medical vaccination efforts out of fear of participating in a Western plot. With polio now making a comeback around the world and health workers being killed or tortured by the Taliban, the consequences have been deadly.

Ukrainian MPs Call For Immediate Troop Withdrawal From Country’s East – 20 May 2014

Ukrainian troops deployed in the country’s east should immediately return to their bases, the country’s parliament said in a memorandum. The freshly-adopted document also urges constitutional reforms based on the decentralization of Kiev’s power.

With 226 votes required to pass the law, the Ukrainian parliament finally adopted the so-called ‘Memorandum of Peace and Consent’, 252 MPs voting in favor. In particular, the document calls “to restore law, order and public safety in the state by stopping bloodshed and bringing to justice those responsible for the killings of civilians during mass protests; to stop the anti-terrorist operation in Ukraine’s southeast and return the soldiers involved in anti-terrorist operations to their places of permanent deployment.”

The document also urges for immediate constitutional reform that will grant more autonomy to regions.
